GRAB and GOJEK are great ways to get around. You can also GRAB/GOJEK a motorbike if you're travelling solo and it's cheaper. Taxi's are readily available a short walk from the villa. Always try to get a genuine BlueBird Taxi and make sure they turn on the meter. Car hire with a driver can also be arranged at a daily cost. The usual rate is around 500,000 rupiah for an 8 hour day including driver.

Our staff, Putu and Siti are excellent cooks. They can cook most styles of food but their specialty is local Balinese / Indonesian fare. The below is a guideline to cooking fees: BREAKFAST Cooking fee - 100,000 rupiah (paid direct to staff) Ingredients are sourced by the staff and a receipt will be provided for direct reimbursement. Typical cost for 6 people for breakfast ingredients is 200,000 rupiah. This would include eggs/fresh fruit/tea coffee/pancakes/toast. LUNCH & DINNER Cooking fee - 150,000 (paid direct to staff) As above the staff buy ingredients and provide a receipt for direct reimbursement. Typical Indonesian / Balinese 4-6 dishes for 6 people ingredients cost 300,000 - 400,000 Please note ingredient prices can vary depending on produce and what you're requesting to have cooked. Berawa/Canggu was once a quiet village not that long ago. The locals are very happy sharing with the tourists but please be mindful and respectful of their customs and traditions. You'll maysee cows in the middle of the road, roosters are a common household pet, dogs roaming around and plenty of local ceremonies which are always worth stopping for and watching the colourful parade if you're lucky enough to see one. The Balinese people are very friendly and enjoy the tourists coming to their beautiful island. You can always expect a smile and greeting most of the time.
