Asheville is known for its great beers and great food. Here are some of our favorite places to eat.
World class tapas, Curate makes excellent small plates in the Spanish tradition. We had a guest who said the atmosphere and food at this restaurant brought him back to old Madrid. Probably the best restaurant in Asheville! If you plan to eat here, plan ahead and get a reservation or plan to wait for up to two hours for a table!

French Broad Chocolate can't be beat for yummy goodness! If you want a quicker bite, the entrance to the east usually has a shorter line than the main lounge area. Inside, you may get candies and ice cream. For a sit-down dessert, go to the main line to the west. It usually moves fairly quickly.

The view from the Sunset Terrace may live in your memory for a lifetime. If you are celebrating a special event and don't mind taking a hit in the wallet, this is the best place to go, in our opinion. Plan ahead and get a reservation for around sunset. The terrace is closed in the winter, so check out the Grove Park Inn's other restaurants if you want a similar experience during winter. Also of note, great holiday decor and a gingerbread house contest in the holiday season!

The terrace is closed in the winter, so check out the Grove Park Inn's other restaurants if you want a similar experience during winter. Also of note, great holiday decor and a gingerbread house contest in the holiday season!

If you haven't been to OWL Bakery yet, you're missing out. Highly recommend stopping by and trying one (or a dozen) of their amazing pastries or a loaf of real, fresh bread.

Parks & Nature
This is the most visited National Park in America, with 16 million visitors per year. And for good reason, The Parkway is a great, relaxing drive in beautiful Western North Carolina. Hiking trails abound along the route. Another entrance to the Parkway is located just over Sunset Mountain behind EverMore Asheville. Follow Sunset Drive upward to Town Mountain Drive, then go up, over and down until you reach a dead end at the Blue Ridge Parkway. To the left, you will eventually find Craggy Gardens (about 20 minutes drive), a beautiful and easy hiking spot, and a great place for a picnic.

This one is still a great brewery and we enjoy being in the outdoor space, watching people float down the French Broad on a summer afternoon. Took the tour recently and if you have 90 minutes to spare, and enjoy learning about the history of one of the best craft brewers, take a tour yourself. You'll sample Fat Tire and several other New Belgium offerings.

Isis Music Hall may be one of the best of the many music venues in town. We visited recently and enjoyed the small venue upstairs for dinner and were entertained by a New Orleans style jazz/blues band. The food was very good (call ahead for a reservation if you want to make sure to get a table), the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was ideal for the style of music. Plan ahead for bigger acts and get your tickets early.
