Owned by country music artist Kix Brooks, winemaker Kip Summers, and Nashville businessman John Russell, Arrington Vineyards has truly become “Nashville’s Wine Country”. Our vineyards were originally established in 2003, when Kip and a fellow wine enthusiast and their families purchased a 25 acre hog farm and began clearing the property and planting grapevines. In 2004, Kix purchased the farm adjacent to the original vineyards - which included the farmhouse that eventually became the winery tasting room. Together, they began creating a first class winery with the working name of Firefly Vineyards. This name was later changed to reflect the local community of Arrington, Tennessee.

Peppered with antiques, the building was gutted and left as bare bones as the FDA would allow. Our Roaster, Tempering units and other machines were laid out and the search began for antiquated pieces that would make it the permanent home. Upon entering the factory you are greeted by relics peppered throughout the factory reinforcing the antiquated methods used in making Southern Artisan chocolate™. This can be seen in the antique pendent factory lighting, rescued from an old army barrack outside of Atlanta, the 200-year-old heart pine was used to replace rotted support beams, glass candy cabinet that houses our new line of Chocuterie™, lit by the glow of the vintage EAT neon diner sign we scored out in Virginia. This is only a nibble of the rarities and antique musing you will find in and around the O&S FACTORY but you'll have to come for a TOUR to find out more!

When you walk through the doors of historic Ryman Auditorium, one thing becomes clear right away: this isn’t just another nightly music venue, and it’s so much more than a daytime tourist stop. This place is hallowed ground. This is the exact spot where bluegrass was born—where Johnny Cash met June Carter, where souls were saved and a slice of history was nearly lost. It was right here that country music found an audience beyond its own back porch, and countless careers took off as deals were signed on napkins and paper scraps backstage. This is a building where anything is possible: a soul can find redemption, a crumbling building can find salvation, and an unknown kid with a guitar can find his or her name in lights. https://ryman.com/events/

Neighborhoods

What to see and do in and around Nashville.
Just south of downtown lies this once-abandoned industrial area that's undergone an urban revitalization in recent years sparking an intoxicating new energy. The exceedingly walkable LEED-certified community is teeming with boutique hotels, high-rise condos, instagrammable murals, shops, live music venues, breweries, and diverse culinary offerings spanning everything from biscuits and Nashville Hot Chicken to Detroit-style pizza, traditional ramen, and Indian food. A bit classier and more upscale than the Downtown neighborhood, the Gulch is known for its significant industrial history, trendsetting dining experiences, and high-end fashion boutiques. Located at a convenient distance from Downtown and SoBro, the Gulch is reportedly the first LEED-certified neighborhood in the South. Once filled with old factories and abandoned warehouses, the area has now transformed into luxury hotels, chic restaurants and bars, glamorous clubs, and hip shopping stores. The Station Inn, practically considered an institution around the neighborhood, has been serving its guests with the best live bluegrass music for the last three decades. Good for: All kinds of travelers, especially the young. Other Highlights: Yazoo Brewing Company, Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Nashville Music City Center, Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and Fort Negley Visitors Center.

In the area quite literally south of downtown Nashville’s Broadway is SoBro. Unlike its neighbor North of Broadway up the hill, this area is known for all things new – the city’s sprawling convention center, live music venues, major hotel brands, boutique properties, restaurants, bars, and even the just over 10-year-old Schermerhorn Symphony Center designed to look like it’s been there for decades. Nashville’s Music Mile connecting downtown with Music Row ends in South of Broadway, a mile-long stretch dotted with notable music attractions like the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and the Music City Walk of Fame Park, a landmark tribute to those from all genres of music who have contributed to the world through song. Located next to the Downtown neighborhood, SoBro, short for South of Broadway, is known for its pulsating music scene, lively bars, and trendy restaurants. An area once dotted with worn-down paths and vacant buildings, was put back into life after the opening of the highly significant Music City Center Convention Center. Nashville’s Wedgewood-Houston (or “WeHo”) neighborhood is located a few blocks south of downtown Nashville with borders defined by Houston Street to the north, Wedgewood Avenue to the south, Eighth Avenue South to the west and Fourth Avenue South/Nolensville Pike to the east. The proximity to downtown, relatively affordable rents and real estate prices, and the number of old warehouses, factories and garages have attracted artists, musicians and entrepreneurs to open restaurants, distilleries, breweries, galleries, studios and workshops in the area. Look for major growth in the years to come: Apple Music’s Nashville office and a SoHo House Hotel are slated to open here soon.
