Real Ale Pub

The Bridewell is an old-fashioned pub (a former holding jail for the naughty residents of Liverpool in the Victorian times) The individual cells are now set up as drinking booths and staff will gladly come and take your orders for drinks. You can also order from Amalia Italian Restaurant (which is next door) and pick up pizzas and pasta and bring them into the pub and eat with your delicious ales.
It's opposite the apartment. It's quiet in the week and they do great takeaway pizza.

St George's Hall (right opposite Lime street station) is one of Prince Charles's favourite buildings. It is built the wrong way round and quite a big deal for the Architect who orchestrated the build. Nevertheless it is very much a commanding building and worth a visit especially inside to see the Old Court and visit the Judge's camber and the prison cells. Once in a while the floorboards are lifted and reveals a wonderful mosaic tiled floor in the large Hall. A very beautiful majestic building and well worth a visit.

Here is the area where the Cavern is situated and where the world famous Beatles played their first gigs before they were famous. Check out the Cilla Black statue on Mathew Street too. This place is buzzing on a night and I would recommend visiting the Cavern in the afternoon when it is quieter and generally no entrance fees applied.

The Phil as it is affectionately known in Liverpool is a famous pub and dining establishment. The pub was John Lennon's favourite and he once said that that was the price of fame not being able to drink in the Phil anymore. Its highly glazed and panelled inside and there are snug rooms as well as the large lounge where Paul McCartney and his band played on the James Corden Carpool Karaoke. A must see is the gents toilets. They are famous Victorian toilets and if the ladies wish to have a look a member of staff will stand guard so you can venture in and peek at the ornate decorated tiles. The beers are real ale and they stock a good supply of gins too.

The further sessions are free too but availability is limited so grab your ticket when you enter the museum. There are left luggage lockers, a cafe and a museum shop.
