A Tower built by the British in 1848 that served as an Important means of communication on our islands in those days,. When its use was superseded by more modern telegraphic methods, it became an important vantage point to watch over the north of the island during the two world wars. Found 10 minutes away on foot from our farmhouse. Together with the more sought after World War II shelter (which extends under a number of streets in the village core right up to the church), this place is open to visitors only on request. The shelter is barely a minute away from us.

Found 5 minutes away from our farmhouse at the start of the valley that separates Gharghur from Birguma, is this curious miniature church so dear to the local villagers. It even has its own festa in September, complete with brass band music, fireworks and, as is always the case with Maltese villages, food! :)
