If you want to see Madrid from a bird's eye view, take the cable car ("Teleférico de Madrid"), Madrid’s most unique tourist attraction, and dates back to 1969. The journey starts on the Paseo del Pintor Rosales street, near the Argüelles Metro station, and takes you over the River Manzanares and into the Casa de Campo park. The cable car carries you above the city's parks and the Manzanares River in the distance, as a recorded commentary describes what you are looking at.

It is the nicest way that you can get to "Casa de Campo" to spend an afternoon in Madrid's "green lung". I would only recommend going when temperatures are not too cold as activities are outdoors

Una de las mejores formas de admirar Madrid desde el aire. Las vistas de la ciudad y de la Sierra y Casa de Campo son magníficas. Un billete de i/v cuesta unos 5,50€ y te lleva hasta el corazón de la Casa de Campo. // Arguably the best way to admire Madrid's skyline and views of the mountains and Casa de Campo Park. A round trip ticket costs about 5,50€ and takes you to the heart of Casa de Campo, where you can walk to the Zoo or Parque de Atracciones and then choose to come back by this cable car or instead take the metro.
