Backbone State Park is Iowa's first state park dedicated in 1920. The park features hiking trails, trout fishing, and rock climbing. Backbone lake also offers swimming and canoe rentals.

Backbone State Park is Iowa's oldest state park. There are several trails that are great for hiking and as well as a cave to visit. There is also a beach area that is great for kayaking, canoeing, and for hanging with friends and family.
