perfection. Every year many tourists and visitors flock from all over the world, fascinated by the timeless charm of this Milanese district. Brera, whose name derives from the term "braida" or expanse of uncultivated land, which today presents itself with narrow cobbled streets and magnificent courtyards, has been a destination since the nineteenth century for artists who attended the Academy of Fine Arts, and is precisely this aspect that contributed to making the atmosphere of the Milan district similar to that of Paris, in whose streets it is possible to meet painters, students and skilled players. The Brera district can be reached by metro from any area of Milan with the Cairoli Castello (line M1), Lanza (line M2) and Montenapoleone (line M3) underground stations.

Brera is defined by the Milanese as 'a little Paris'. The atmosphere here is special, especially in the evening when the narrow streets are filled with stalls and the historic bars are very crowded. This is where many young Milanese spend their evenings, but also their afternoons, stopping to study in some bars along Corso Garibaldi, or stopping by Princi to chat with friends. This is the area where I spent most of my adolescence. The two most evocative streets, as well as Via Brera and Corso Garibaldi, are undoubtedly Via Solferino, where you will find the historic headquarters of the Corriere della Sera, and Via Fiori Chiari, the street that most embodies the essence of Brera: browse among the courtyards, dodge the fortune tellers, and get ready to take lots of pictures!
