The museum houses the largest collection of work by Auguste Rodin, the father of modern sculpture. Rodin worked in the main building here, known as Hôtel Biron, and personally chose the location for all the pieces in the garden. It is such an idyllic setting, with rosebushes and fountains, that I go there twice a month just to read and draw. The life of Rodin is complex, so I suggest the audio guide. Also, don’t miss his masterpiece “The Gates of Hell,” located outside to the left of the entrance. He worked for years on it in plaster, but died before it was cast in bronze.

My favorite museum in Paris, cute garden, about a 15 min. metro ride from the apt.
The Rodin Museum boasts the second largest collection of Auguste Rodin’s work and is a tribute to every phase his artistry. The garden with its reflection pool is a main feature of the museum that showcases eight works, including ‘The Thinker,’ ‘The Gates of Hell’ and the return of ‘The Shade’ and ‘Adam’ sculptures. Inside the Art-Deco building, patrons can find Rodin’s paintings, the works of Honore de Balzac and over 140 bronzes, marbles and plasters. The tranquil setting and outdoor mirror pool is nice for a date spot. The suggested admission is $10 for adults and under $10 for everyone else.
