A visit to wales should include either a walk up snowdon or take the train.! This is about a 20 minute drive away for parking depending on your start route.

This is the big mountain. It is the one people want to walk up. Do not be fooled, it is not an easy stroll. There is also the train which goes up it - I suspect you will need to book in advance. You could go on Crib Goch on Snowdon, but really that is for head cases.

Luckily, Rhyd Ddu makes a great base for walkers with plenty of routes to choose from. Snowdon is a clear favourite with many walkers, however there are plenty of other walks in the area which you may also wish to explore. Wherever you choose to venture, you’re sure to be rewarded with striking mountain views and breath-taking scenery. The starting point for the Rhyd Ddu path is located only a few meters away from the cottage so is ideally situated to start your adventure.
