Located amid Low Abbey's woodland, rich with narcissi and bluebells in the spring, adjacent to the old damson orchard, at the end of Hadrian's Wall. Rather shabby but full of character & very cosy. Port Carlisle has a faded splendour - built on the site of a fishing village, for a brief time it was a major port serving Carlisle, with its own canal & later a railway; in the 1850s the Firth silted up so ships could no longer get in. Birdwatchers, walkers, fans of history, dogs will love it!

Welcome to Rose Cottage, near Bowness on Solway, our cottage is a lovely getaway far from noise and light pollution in a hamlet called Cardurnock, on a peninsula opposite the Scottish coast. Rose Cottage sleeps two and is (small) dog friendly, is well equipped and has a large garden, a short drive to local pubs. Currently the WIFI is very poor. There are some walks from Rose Cottage onto the shore , at nearby Anthorn or Bowness on Solway. Also many lovely nature reserves close by.
