Qué harás

This is a nature immersion based on the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku (Forest Bathing).

10:00am Introductions and the history of the location.
10:30am A guided meditative activation of the senses.
10:50am 1st of 4 invitations. This invitation is designed for you to become mindful in the present moment and helps you to slow down reducing stress and anxiety while walking along the path.
11:15am 2nd invitation. This invitation is designed to get your creative juices flowing in a mindful and present way. You will explore the forest between 2 points focusing on a prompt given by the guide.
11:40am 3rd invitation. The prompt for this invitation is designed to allow you a chance to connect to nature in a mindful present way while travelling between two points along our path.
12:00pm Our last invitation is called "Sit Spot" We spend time sitting in stillness and reflection.
12:20pm We wrap up the immersion by taking some time to embody the experience. Herbal tea and some natural light snacks are consumed as we discuss the experience.

Many participants find themselves in a place of liminality by the end of the sequence. Stress, Anxiety and even depression can dissipate. Studies show this practice can lower cortisol levels & improve heart rate variability. Effects can last up to 1 month. A regular guided practice is encouraged.
Other things to note
Forest Therapy Immersions take place rain or shine. However, if the weather forecast is predicting dangerous conditions, the experience can be rescheduled.

Depending on the season and time of day, their could be an $8.00 NYS Vehicle Use fee to enter the park unless you hold a New York Empire Pass.

Bethpage State Park: The rustling leaves, the birds chirping, the squirrels chatting. The forest has a song of its own. Add to that the aroma of the flora make this an excellent location for this experience.
