It's a 20-minute drive to Saranac Lake and 35 minutes to Lake Placid. It's recommended to have your own vehicle or rental to best enjoy the Adirondacks. Because of its size taxis are expensive and an Uber may take some time to reach you. If you're flying in, the nearest airport, SLK, is 15 minutes away.

The perfect place to be in the woods, but not isolated. Cook your meals in the nearby cookhouse (40’ away, unheated) on a camp stove or over an open campfire. A heated bathroom/shower is 20’ away. "Relax in cool comfort, quiet, restful beauty"...this is how the brochure read in 1948 at Split Rock Farm! Our goal is to restore these features for our guests in the same location. The cottage is attached to the original farmhouse, built in 1890, located across the street from the iconic Split Rock. It has been recently renovated with new flooring, new beds (1 queen, 1 full), cable TV and WiFi, washer and dryer, new electric stove, microwave, coffee maker, kitchen and dining essentials.
