Cool, one bedroom garden level apartment with a stone patio to enjoy the sunset. There is a separate entrance to this charming get-away in the lower Berkeley hills. High enough to enjoy bay views but close enough to easily enjoy the vibrant gourmet ghetto shops, cafes and restaurants. The unit is approx. 575 sq ft and has an open floor plan with kitchen/living area complete with custom craftsman details and cabinetry. There is a full kitchen for preparing meals with concrete countertops. The bedroom has a flat screen TV, writing desk, closet and comfortable queen sized bed.( There is an air matress available for extra person) The apartment is eco-friendly with solar-powered radiant heat and hot water. We are located just around the corner from the Rose Garden, Live Oak Park and convenient to the UC Berkeley, the Greek Theater, Lawrence Hall of Science. Tilden State Park and other East Bay Regional Parks are just a short drive and have fantastic biking and hiking trails with stunning views and many areas to explore. We are also short drive or BART ride to San Francisco. We are conveniently located for excursions to Marin County, Wine Country and all the other greater Bay Area destinations We live upstairs, are long term Berkeley residents and we are more than happy to answer questions and assist you in any way to make your stay more enjoyable. Separate entrance to sun-filled, spacious studio apartment above main house. Private balcony overlooks a large garden that guests may use. 15+ minute walk to UC, downtown theaters, restaurants, BART to San Francisco. Queen bed, sitting area, and small fridge, microwave, kettle, and toaster (not a full kitchen). 6 steps to front door; 14 steps to the studio. If over 6 ft. tall, this might not be for you (low ceiling). If you want peace & quiet surrounded by a beautiful garden this is for you!

Berkeley Hills Maybeck Cottage

Built in 1925, Maybecks' “Cubby” is your private, rustic, 750 sq ft, carriage house located less than a mile from Cal. Homey and basic - the deck is great for lunch, dinner, or just hanging out. It's an easy walk down to the gourmet ghetto, Thursday Markets, buses and BART. Carport provided, a car is recommended (hey it's located in the hills.) Not baby proofed, minimal fencing - sorry, no pets, babies or toddlers. Smoke free, no butts about it. Sorry, no loud music, or large gatherings.

Located halfway up the steep Berkeley hillside in a quiet residential area. The space has amazing natural light with 4 skylights and garden facing windows. There is a patio deck with table and chairs to enjoy meals outdoors. Previously an art studio, now a simple detached cottage at the entrance of our property. Private North Berkeley In-law unit

This completely private portion of our North Berkeley home is usually available only Fri, Sat, and Sun nights, except where otherwise indicated on the calendar. If you plan to leave on Monday, check out will need to be early (9:00am). We usually cannot be flexible on that as we use it for other purposes Mon-Fri most weeks. All are welcome at our peaceful garden studio. It is the back of our historic home, the oldest standing structure in Berkeley! We are close to BART with easy access to SF and UC Berkeley and two blocks from Berkeley’s famous Fourth Street shopping area with unique boutiques, great restaurants, and coffee houses. Entry is private and the garden is all yours to enjoy.
