Totalmente equipada para cocinar y pasarla bien. Nuestras ventanas en el primer piso y segundo cuentan con mosquiteros. Y si necesitan transporte será un gusto para nosotros llevarlos!

The house is nestled on a private farm next to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. It is located on top of the mountain with spectacular views of the Gulf of Nicoya and the best place to watch sunsets when the weather allows. It is a one bedroom non luxury house that was built by one of the first Quaker settlers in the Monteverde area. It is fully equipped with a kitchen, washing machine and dryer for the best comfort. We are in the cloud forest, be ready for weather changes and bugs.

Oct 25: We have just completed a full remodel of this lovely house. It now has two bedrooms, full bath, kitchen, deck, and laundry room all on one level and with wide doors to make it wheelchair friendly. My mother built this as her retirement house. She wanted a cozy, comfortable, house with a beautiful view. Wood floors, fireplace with firewood provided for the chilly Monteverde nights, beautiful windows so that you are looking down on the tops of the trees in the river gorge.

Before tourism, Monteverde was shaped by dairy farming. In the 1950s, Quaker families settled here seeking peace and a sustainable way of life. Together with local farmers, including our grandfather, they helped establish the Monteverde Cheese Factory. This project honors that legacy through farm-inspired architecture built with local materials. We call it La Lechería in tribute to the old dairy farm that once stood on this land.
