The Rookery

This 400 year old coach house was built around the turn of the 1600's. It has quirky uneven walls, beams made from sailing ships that travelled the world, and a pretty courtyard garden. There's no kitchen, but is a dining room with mini fridge, microwave kettle, crockery, cutlery and tea making things and a large container for you to leave your dishes out for me. *DOGS* Please keep dogs off the bed and furniture because I find the dog hairs just spread over everything in the washing machine.

A lovely purpose built annexe, with fitted kitchen to include washing machine,dishwasher,refridgerator,oven/hob and microwave.Lounge has TV with dvd,books and games,wi-fi,sofa-bed and French doors to garden with garden chairs/table and BBQ.The bedroom has a superking sized bed that can be unzipped and unlinked to make two singles if required and built-in wardrobes.Bathroom has shower over bath with basin and W.C.The property has underfloor heating and secure outside storage for bicycles etc.

A very cosy, modern shepherds hut in an idyllic part of Northumberland. Handcrafted on site it has en-suite facilities, underfloor heating and an enclosed patio with seats and a chiminea. We have excellent walking and cycling from site. The Pennine way is a field away, two disused railway lines, Lambley viaduct and riverside walks. Nearby is the market town of Alston, Penrith and the north lakes, Barnard Castle in Teasdale. Stanhope in Weardale. Hadrian's wall, Hexham, Brampton and Carlisle

Melmerby village is home to the welcoming Shepherd’s Inn pub and the award-winning Village Bakery. For everyday essentials, the local shop in Langwathby is nearby, and the towns of Penrith and Alston are just a short drive away.

In the heart of the North of England you will find our accommodation set within an area of outstanding natural beauty. The rooms we offer have been designed with the explorer in mind, to use a base to explore the local surrounding area, the Lake District, Northumberland and Durham. We have had guests walking the Isaacs Tea Trail as well as cyclists doing the C2C. After a long day exploring the local area return to refresh yourself in our spacious bathroom complete with underfloor heating.

Located in the countryside, a short walk away from Alston's town centre which includes a pub, cafe and some shops. Perfect for a relaxing break in an area of outstanding natural beauty, lots of scenic walks from the doorstep. Private garden with a hot tub, a perfect way to view the stars on a clear night. This beautiful cottage is located in the peaceful town of Allendale and is only a 2 minute walk to pubs & shops. This cottage has been refurbished to the highest standard and was designed specifically for the holiday rental market with Hadrians wall on our door step. It boasts a large kitchen, a cosy living area, 2 double bedrooms and a walk-in shower room. On street parking is free and there is a patio area to the rear of the property which is ideal for a sunny day.

A perfect base for experiencing the beauty of the surrounding countryside, from every direction Alston is approached over a broad, heather clad Pennine Landscape. Alston has a steep cobbled main street with a distinctive market cross, and many stone buildings dating from the 17th century.
