**Location not as shown on Airbnb** HOWEVER, the location was actually (I think) better than Bamburi, although it depends what you like - Mtwapa has a lot more going on and is way less tourist-centred, and there is a beach in walking distance. On arrival, Carol was very helpful with directions. I took a cab from Mombasa airport for about $20. There is AC available however I preferred to the normal fan. The area has occasional power cuts and water pressure issues but there are ways around it ! They have several bathrooms so if one shower is coming out weakly you can try another. It was no issue. Regular change of linen. Relaxed atmosphere. Carol is a great cook and is available to show you round the area if you wish. As a solo traveller I took her up on the offer and had the most incredible time. It's a very interesting & fun part of the world. (I recommend a trip to Gedi Ruins for affordable information, sightseeing and playing with monkeys. Nearby Watamu is beautiful)

We had the most amazing stay at this beautiful Maua villa! From the moment we arrived, we were taken in by how stunning the property was. The decor was tasteful and inviting, creating the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing getaway. One of the best parts was how close it was to the beach—literally just a minute’s walk away, which made our days so easy and enjoyable. The pool was perfect, safe and kid-friendly. Chef John made delicious food and was available to assist with anything we needed. There was some construction work going on at a neighboring villa during our stay, but surprisingly, it didn’t take away from the peaceful atmosphere. The villa remained a calm, fun and relaxing retreat. Overall, this villa gave us the perfect mix of luxury, comfort, and convenience. It’s a place we’ll definitely return to and highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable vacation with family and friends.

Very nice place with nice ppl

We have stayed at Gertrude's place in Mtwapa twice now, she is a great hostess and eager to provide a good experience. We communicated a few items that we needed to have updated and she took care of it. The main issue with this home is the lack of wifi and the lack of reception for cell / personal hotspot, especially for biz travelers it is tough for email / conference calls. Apart from that, we really enjoy staying at Gertrudes and definitely recommend it for folks wanting to stay nearby to Mtwapa and local beaches. Thanks again, Gertrude! :)

Paul’s place is a perfect place to spend with a family. It’s a small paradise and the pictures are exact even better. The house outlook the beautiful ocean and there’s a small private beach excellent for a toddler. The place is secure with askaris at the beach and at the gate. There are a lot of things around the place and it’s only a few minutes from the airport and the shopping center. Paul was adorable and always available when we needed him. The cook made us a delicious meal and evelyne the cleaning lady was amazing. I recommend Paul’s place eyes closed. The place is breathtaking and the evening breeze is wow. We will definitely come back again and again.

This home is one of the best properties we have been to and is more than the description. The host was responsive and assisted us with any and every enquiry. The ambience and surrounding was peaceful, serene and secure. Would highly recommend this home and will be coming back. Janet is welcoming, warm and kind- she made our stay here fabulous. Looking for a place in Diani that ticks all the boxes and then some, look no further. We are so grateful for all your assistance Janet. My rating is 11 out of 10.

We stayed at Hidden Paradise for 2 weeks, we really enjoyed it. The people, especially Lilian, were so friendly and always helped us if we had any questions. We also really liked the restaurant, the food was delicious and not too expensive. It was also very nice to have a place directly at the beach! I would definitely come back! Thank you!

Nice and clean studio only 5 minutes walk from beach. Vincent aranged nice welcome drinks and fruit plater even it was late arrival. Breakfast served at the pool, Hatibu ensure everything was fine and cooked your eggs at the spot. Amazing people great hospitality.

Der Aufenthalt bei Ann war schön. Die Kommunikation vorab mit Ann lief reibungslos und auch während des Aufenthaltes stand Ann einem mit Rat und Tat zur Seite u. a. mit Tipps zum Sonnenliegen mieten am Strand oder auch die Bestellung eines Tuk Tuks, da wir keine afrikanische Handynummer hatten. Der Strand war gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Frühstück war jeden Tag außer einem frischgepressten Saft und einem großen Obsttelller eine Überraschung, da es nie das Gleiche gab. Trinkwasser stand auch kostenlos zur Verfügung.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Nora's. The room was very clean and the bathroom is very spacious with 2 large windows. The breakfast is very filling and delicious. The only con was that the wifi didn't work properly in the room. So if you wann get good reception you'll have to sit in the common area or around the pool. which was absolutely fine for me. The poolside is very relaxing and quiet.
