Many outdoor activities, with skating, icefishing & snowmobiling in winter & paddle boarding, kayaking, etc in the summer, plus endless amazing sunsets. At Hillwinds House, it’s all about taking a moment to disconnect from your busy life and reconnect with nature. Build a fire, read a book, brew some coffee, sweat in the sauna, soak in the hot tub (seasonally), prepare a nourishing meal, and watch the sun set over the valley in the west. We are excited to share our Alberta landscape with its beautiful sky, empty fields, and close up nature details. The 5 acres are filled with wildflowers in the summer, look closely and take a moment to enjoy.

Raspberry Castle

Let your adventure begin at Raspberry Castle. This three story tall tower has been hand constructed from bricks fired in Medicine Hat. John Jensen, a Danish engineer / bricklayer designed our wonderful castle with his family in the 70's. We've modernized and renovated the entire building to make it as comfortable as possible. Sorsele Hus is a bright, cozy two-bedroom cottage fronting directly onto Pigeon Lake. Built over 80 years ago, it has been lovingly restored to honour its original Swedish owners. The large wrap-around deck with a gas firepit opens onto a lawn next to the beach. There is public green space right next door for tossing a frisbee or kicking a ball around. The cottage is just an hour's drive from Edmonton or within cycling distance for those looking for a bicycle vacation.
