We stayed at Kanthi’s place for 1.5 months It was our first time in Sri Lanka, and we’re so glad we chose this place. Kanti and her husband are truly kind and hospitable souls. Every week, Kanti prepared curry for us with incredible local vegetables. It remains the best meal we had in Sri Lanka. The room was cozy and always clean, with fresh towels and bed linen regularly provided by Kanti. She also helped with cleaning while we were away, and we never had to worry about leaving our belongings behind. The internet was stable enough to work remotely. This place allows you to reconnect with a simple life, free from excess, and find something truly important within yourself—silence and peace. A special thank you for the guitar, which we were allowed to keep upstairs for a whole month—thanks to that, my girlfriend composed several beautiful melodies. Very good apartment, everything looked like the photos. You will have access to a big kitchen with fridge and enough things to cook normal food, a room with a table + chair, good for working on computer, a bedroom with big bed, wardrobe big enough for 2 weeks, chairs, and a bathroom with shower with hot water, toilets and sink, and 2 small balconies. Place is quiet, you are far from trafic and nightlife, you can hear animals, especially peacocks who can be strongly noisy in early morning, and hear a mosque with pray in early morning too, but this one is kind of far. They are buildings under construction around the apartment, there was not renovation when I was, but it can be. Host is really nice, everything was smooth and confortable, amazing place to stay. To notice: - even if you can go to center by walking, I strongly advice to have a scooter - water pressure and wifi are not strong, as many places in Sri Lanka - they are dogs in the garden, very friendly

I had an amazing experience staying at this Airbnb! The space was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated. The bed was super comfortable, and I appreciated all the little touches like fresh towels & plenty of replacements for the filtered water dispenser. The location was lovely, peaceful and close to everything I needed. Suresh was so friendly, responsive, and made sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. We loved it & extended our stay!! I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area! Thank you 🙏

We had a nice stay here. The apartment is clean and modern. Good value for the price paid. There’s a hot plate and fridge as well as a few cooking utensils. The WiFi was not the strongest and wouldn’t be able to support video calls if you need that for work. We couldn’t stream shows on the wifi but it’s fine for basic email checking. The biggest surprise regarding this stay was that the address listed is not the actual address where you’ll be staying. When we arrived at the listed address, we were put in a tuktuk and taken to the actual location. However, from the apartment it’s only about a 10 min walk to restaurants, 20 min walk to the grocery store and 15 min walk to the beach. The location is in a quiet neighborhood amongst the rice fields with friendly neighbors. The hosts came to check on us quite often. Overall, would recommend this stay to others.

We loved it here. A short walk to a reef break. Amazing breakfast & coffees. Lovely chilled vibe with the kindest of staff. We were so sad to leave. Can’t recommend it enough.

We have stayed in around 180 Airbnbs and this is stand out one of the best! THE most fully equipped property we have ever come across, with all sorts of unexpected items such as mosquito repellent coils, filtered water, cooking oils and first aid kit! Eva and her manager, Tharush were amazingly friendly and accommodating. 5 star service and facilties to match! Can't recommend this place enough.

Staying with Nalaka and his family was truly one of the best experiences we’ve had on our trip. From the very first moment, we didn’t just feel welcome, we felt like we were visiting old friends. They have such big hearts and were always there with a smile, a kind word, or a helping hand. The place itself was even more beautiful than the photos. Everything was super clean, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. But what made our stay unforgettable was the way Nalaka and his family treated us. We had so many lovely conversations, and it always felt like they genuinely cared about us and our experience. He also cooked for us a few times, and the food was honestly some of the best we had in Sri Lanka. So if you’re looking for a real, honest, and heartwarming Sri Lankan experience, not just a place to sleep, but a place to connect, then you should definitely book this Airbnb. We’ll always remember this stay, and we’re so grateful we got to meet Nalaka and his wonderful family.

We stayed at Sajeewa’s home for three weeks and could not recommend it enough. It’s spacious, comfortable and clean. The kitchen is sufficiently equipped to cook meals and save money on eating out. The gardens around the house are lush and invite lots of birds for watching in the early mornings. The balcony is such a highlight, it’s serene and peaceful, you could spend hours there chatting, working or simply staring into nature. Sajeewa and his family are so hospitable and very easy to communicate with, they made our stay feel very homely. Local shops are within walking distance and Weligama beach is a 20 minute walk at best. We would definitely stay with Sajeewa again if we’re back in Weligama.

Ein perfekter Aufenthalt – absolut empfehlenswert! Die Unterkunft war genauso wie auf den Fotos – sauber, gemütlich und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Lage war ideal, ruhig und dennoch gut angebunden. Besonders gefallen hat mir Zugang zum Strand. Raj war super freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer erreichbar, wenn wir Fragen hatten. Der Check-in verlief reibungslos und unkompliziert. Besonders die beiden Haushälter/innen waren grandios. Die waren so freundlich und haben einen tollen Service angeboten. Vielen Dank nochmal an Mani & Kawshika Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen und kann diese Unterkunft wärmstens empfehlen – vielen Dank für die tolle Gastfreundschaft!

We stayed for 2 weeks at Gayans place, it looks exactly like the pictures with lots of space. The bed is really comfy and the shower has hot water although the pressure is low. Me and my boyfriend both work online, so the desks were great however 10GB of fibre internet was not enough for both of us to work for a full day You do need a bike for the location as there aren’t many restaurants in walking distance. We rented a different one because the bike provided had no mirrors I know this is a family home, however the owners were occasionally cleaning in the garden which made it feel a bit less private at times Overall, I would recommend Gayan’s place, it was great value for money and we had a lovely time in Weligama, thank you ☺️

We had a great stay at Bandula’s villa! Bandula was so helpful and friendly. The place was clean and perfectly located. We would 100% stay here again if we came back to Sri Lanka

The place exceeded our expectations, it was beautiful, peacful and clean. The garden and pool area were large and beautifully designed rooms are spacious and neat. Hiruni and sajith respected our privacy at all times they were a great help and were there whenever we needed which was great and highly appreciated! The host was easy to reach out to and always available they also helped us book taxis for our trips to and from the villa 💕 The location was great many restaurants close by just a short walking distance you could also see the train passing by through the day from many rooms in the villa which made our stay even more special it was a very unique experience the kids absolutely loved it! I cannot recommend villa noumi enough! I have been to many villas/beach houses in sri lanka this is definitely one of the absolute best!! Thank you and we cannot wait to be back 🥰

Gads Villa is a truly magical place. The gardens are exquisitely landscaped, and the giant Velvet Apple tree is really a wonder to behold. The pool has a shallow section which is perfect for little ones, or for adults to lounge in. The kitchen is huge and had everything we needed (important when traveling with 4 youngsters!). The bathrooms are likewise huge and very prettily set out. Beds are comfortable and the fans were sufficient to keep us cool at night. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe, a few minutes tuk tuk ride into the main part of town. I personally found it very convenient to have yoga and a little spa within a few minutes walk. Secret Beach is also only a short walk away. Sahan and team were super helpful, and breakfasts were delicious. All in all a fabulous stay.

Terrene Villa was everything and more. Jalal responded quickly to any queries before arrival and during the booking process. We stayed for two weeks as a family of 4, plus daughter's boyfriend. The villa is stunning and just as described. Sri Lanka is the gift that keeps on giving and Terrene Villa is the perfect place to enjoy it all. Suda and Judi (apologies if I have spelt their names wrong) were a delight and looked after us very well. Their breakfasts were enjoyable and the fresh juices were delicious. The gardens were kept beautifully and what a joy to see monkeys in the trees and on the roof! Viraj sorted all our travel and day trips out and was always quick to reply and make suggestions. We were so sad to leave the villa, it really is an oasis of calm.

Great place for two couples or a family. We really enjoyed our stay as there was plenty to do at surrounding beaches and also a great place to relax during the day.

Harshana and family are excellent hosts. I was looking for a quiet vacation spot and that's what I found. Access to multiple markets for purchasing fresh fruit and vegetables, beach life including surfing lessons, rentals and cabana life, are all within walking distance. Suggestions for local specialties and eateris are encouraged. Treat bags gifts with Hoppers, and fresh baked goods made me experiment more with local delicacies. This stay will be tough to beat. Finally, Matara's people are friendly and helpful. As good as the world could ask for.

Very nice stay with this lovely family! They are very loving and truely cared about me. They made some food and shared it. Everything what I needed was there. Would highly recommend as a homestay.

We stayed at Sanjayas place for four nights. The family was super kind and helped us with local advice such as restaurants and must-sees close by. They arranged transport to the house and again when we left. Their hospitality was warm and made us feel welcome. We would definitly recommend this place to others.

I had an amazing stay at Crystal Villa Weligama, a perfect retreat for relaxation and productivity. The villa features 3 beautifully designed bedrooms, making it ideal for families or groups. The cozy living room and dining area are perfect for unwinding and enjoying meals together. The fully-equipped kitchen has everything you need, and with fiber optic internet, it’s great for digital nomads. Located in a calm and quiet area, the villa offers a large garden for relaxation. Just 800 meters from the beach and town, it’s a short 5-10 minute walk to enjoy the sun and surf. The neighborhood is safe and secure, ideal for families. The host, Ruwan, is incredibly helpful, ensuring a comfortable stay. Crystal Villa Weligama is one of the best places to stay in the area, offering comfort, convenience, and tranquility. I highly recommend it for both work and leisure.

We had a wonderful stay at Sahan’s place - the location was perfect being a few minutes walk from Blue Beach on one side and Hiriketiya on the other with amazing restaurant/ seafood choices. Avisa was always on hand with great suggestions of what to do and he booked us lots of TukTuks and taxis, he was very helpful. He also served a great breakfast in the garden every morning. The only downside is that the living room part of the apartment became very hot, but the views to the sea from there were great.
