If your view is to have a great night's sleep to ski, whitewater raft, fish, mountain bike or hike then this is the place for you. An hours drive from Christchurch and close to skiing at Mt Hutt. We know you'll love everything the outdoors has to offer from Methven. The resort also has a spa pool, restaurant in peak season & tennis court.

Situated on the Inland scenic route [High way 72] and only a short drive to Mount Hutt ski field and the Ashburton Lakes /Lord of the Rings country.For a longer drive Geraldine is only 30 minutes away and the Gateway to the beautiful Southern Lakes . The cottage accomodation is totally private set in a beautiful garden setting in the grounds of the historic school house built in 1876. 20 minutes to Methven and 1 hour to Christchurch international Airport. Located on our 32ha farm, watch sheep grazing metres from your door, native Kereru playing in the trees above you, or head out to many surrounding activities. Note: This is a mini studio style cottage so is very small and priced accordingly.

Use the apartment as a launch pad to local activities in Peel Forest (horse treks and bush walks), Lake Tekapo (ice skating, snow tubing, day spa and hot pools), Mt Cook (beautiful scenic walks and helicopter rides), or just a place to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of town. We are a working farm running cattle, chickens and 1 dog.

Methven offers both great winter and summer escapes, with the mountain base only 10 minutes from the house, where you can also find some great mountain walks/biking. Or you can relax in the Opuke hotpools, just a 15min walk. You won't be disappointed staying in our comfortable home.
