We loved our stay in the cabin. It was so peaceful. We got visits from deer every evening & shows from the lightning bugs every night. We enjoyed eating our meals on the screened in patio. The hot tub was the perfect way to relax before bed. The twin beds were not very comfortable (& they were also really squeaky). The other beds were fine, though. If you’re terrified of bugs & spiders, this probably isn’t the place for you. They weren’t excessive, but they were regularly visible. Mostly daddy long legs, nothing too scary.

The location and place was beautiful, clean, and well decorated. The hosts were very responsive if I had a problem or could not locate an amenity. I would highly recommend if someone wanted to stay in the area!

Our family had a great time at Darien’s cabin. We were about 10-15 minutes from some great hiking, the gorge bridge, and great restaurants in the cute town of Fayetteville. My kids got to watch snow falling one morning on the front porch and we listened to the frogs every time it rained. The hot tub was heavenly! Thank you so much for having us and for all of the effort that you put into making our stay comfy, peaceful, and special.

The cabin is beautiful. It is definitely not for people taller than 5'5 there is not much space between the floor and ceiling. The decorations are absolutely gorgeous. It was pretty quiet however there were a lot of other cabins/houses on the property which is not listed in the details of the ad. The hot tub didn't stay hot so we only used it once. I would definitely recommend fixing it or replacing it for future guests. Other than those two minor details Skippers cabin is a great place to stay for a weekend getaway.

The house was nice and looked like the pictures. I think it had not been stayed in for a little bit before our check in as it had a little musty smell , but we opened the windows and it cleared out quickly. Myla was very responsive with the couple of requests we had during our stay The property is nice, but small backyard as most of the space is in the front. The driveway was as described - definitely a hill :) The closest town is Summersville which has everything you need for a week away. Nothing that Myla could prevent but there are dogs at the corner who bark ALOT! Just a heads up in case you bring a dog who barks when they hear other dogs barking.

The cabin is very cozy and clean! Our pup loved the backyard!

We had a fabulous weekend and totally recommend staying here. Can't wait to come back to see more of the parks!!

Beautiful cottage with everything you need to enjoy the evening relaxing after a day of adventure in the parks. Comfortable and private, easy to find, and great communication.

The location was super convenient as I was traveling to attend Bridge Day. The cabin looks just like the photos and it was easy to find. The hosts were super friendly and very helpful when I accidentally locked myself out of my cabin. And when I mentioned that the space heater that was provided was not working properly they replaced it for me. If you are looking for a no-frills, basic shelter and accommodations then this is it!

Great cabin that is very close to Gauley Fest location. I also love how secluded it was and it came with our own fire pit!

Craig’s place was perfect for our purposes for being in this beautiful area. Primarily, we wanted to explore one of our newest National Parks — the New River NP. We also wanted to explore the Gauley River area and take some of the hikes recommended in this area. Craig’s place was perfect as a base of operation for our exploring this part of WV. We also did an extensive search of the area, and Craig’s place was one of the best for our purposes. Also, it was well furnished and everything was fairly new and very adequate.

My wife, our golden retriever and I stayed 3 nights. This cabin is off the beaten path and that is what we wanted. Everything was as described. Our dog, Gracie, loved the wide open space to run. Inside, the cabin was clean and modern with tons of living room space. This is the place to unplug. We do recommend.

This little spot near New River Gorge National Park was incredible. The cabin was cozy, spotless, and offered complete privacy — exactly what we were hoping for. We loved watching deer wander by and listening to the rain fall on the roof. It was the perfect peaceful getaway, we didn’t want to leave!

Crystals place was beautiful, the view and privacy is a huge plus. The beds were so comfortable!! We stayed with teenagers and they stayed busy the whole time with the board games and pool table. LOVED IT!

Great place to get away for a few days and do some outdoor activities. The cranberry river and wilderness being so close is awesome, I highly recommend fishing the river. Of course my favorite thing is zero light pollution at night for stunning night skies. I had a very good stay and can’t wait to return.

Our little vacation here was wonderful…very peaceful by the river. Everything in the house was ready for a lovely stay…very clean and well equipped (though I could have used one larger fry pan,,,or I couldn’t find it.). otherwise, everything was here. The back porch is delightful, and was perfect for my 94 year old father and I to sit and talk and watch the river go by. The view is gorgeous. The only surprise was that the house was on the road. However, all the homes on the Elk River are between the road and the river because of the steep, wooded mountains. The road was, however, quiet, and never interrupted our joyful stay. This is a very historical area… rough looking old coal towns, but even these are fascinating. We loved it.

The entire home is impeccably clean. The setting is idyllic and peaceful with walking trails cut through the property. It is also very conveniently located close to New River Gorge Park. The bed linens had a light clean smell that was like getting a hug right before we fell asleep. The amenities and thoughtful details abound: freshly baked cookies welcomed us. The host provided camping chairs to use and a day pass for the park. She thought of everything! We'd love to return!

Very responsive host. This home is in a great location for activities at Summersville Lake. It was a great home base for our group and it had everything that we needed.

We had a great stay. It was very clean and we had no issues. There was plenty of towels and wash cloths, and extra blankets if needed. We loved the swing and listening to the river. It is a little noisy from the traffic though, but it’s very easy to find and check in. Great stay for two people, would stay again😊

Our family loved this quiet retreat and that is was so close the Cranberry River for fishing. We found it well stocked with kitchen cookware and utensils. We enjoyed the campfire area and wood was well stocked. One thing to note is their is not a dishwasher, so be sure to getting a helping hand from the family. Also, while there is Internet available, I'm not sure the 1.1mbps DSL would allow for remote work. Probably not a big deal for most but for those that do split work and vacation, just be aware.

The host was very responsive and accommodating with our request for an earlier arrival time. The house is quaint. It’s an old home, which comes with its own pros and cons, but it was very comfortable and perfect for our needs. The bed was really comfy. The house is private, though neighbors are still fairly close. There’s a great yard to walk the dogs. But the thing we loved the very best was the location. It’s SO close to the New River Gorge National Park. You can’t ask for a better location to enjoy the park. We would definitely return to this house, should we ever be back in the area.
