Makoto and his partner are wonderful hosts. He is always there in the morning to open up the curtains for the view of the japanese garden he manicures. He takes alot of pride in his job as an airbnb host, giving a excellent hand constructed map to offering suggestions if you are not sure what to do. If you are an alone traveller or even a group He is a great communication. His guest house is walking distance to the train station but also to a JR station which is a little further but doable. If you arrive at a certain time he will try and pick you up when you first arrive. He is always happy to help and loves to chat. His vegetable garden is spectactular. It was a wonderful experience and even though there were 9 guests we did not have to wait for a shower or to use the kitchen. Yet we still managed to meet people from other countries. My husband and I loved staying there. It gave us the best opportunity to explore the local areas. Thank you again.

A wonderful experience. The house adjoins the To-ji temple which is a must to visit especially on the 21st of the month. We slept very well on the modern futons, the bed clothes smelled so good and the onsen was such a pleasant moment. The house is big and w modern equipment. The room at the back is quiet and really nice. We asked Maya some restaurant tips and trips we wanted to do and we always got a super fast answer. Very helpful.

We had such a nice stay in the traditional Japanese room, which was done to a high standard. The beds were really comfy and the host was really friendly and responsive.

Very warm and helpful household (luggage room option). Good location (quiet and few minutes to Kyoto Station). Rooms very clean, spacious and cosy; beds very comfortable. Everything as described. I highly recommend it!

Chieri was such a welcoming and friendly host :) We were happy we got to experience a traditional Japanese house. We had a walk with Chieri and Wabi around the house and the river bank is very pretty. There are a few stores around where you can buy organic food and groceries. The house was beautiful and had authentic features. Chieri and her mother Kaori also made us probably the most beautiful (and tasty!) Japanese breakfast. The stay was a memorable experience for us both and we would happily come back on our next visit to Japan!

Heerlijk huis, super schoon in fijne straat. Dichtbij zijn treinen, bussen etc. Ook veel lekkere restaurants en kleine eetgelegenheden, bijvoorbeeld bij de buren (2 huizen verderop) wordt je gastvrij ontvangen en heb je goed ontbijt met lekkere koffie. De slaapkamers boven bieden wel weinig privacy, want je moet altijd door elkaars kamer. Met een gezin en vrienden is dat ook best gezellig trouwens.

료칸 분위기를 느낄 수 있고, 시설도 좋습니다. 위치가 역에 가까워 너무나 편하고 편의점도 바로 근처에 있어서 좋네요.

Our stay with Takashi in his home was pristine and a wonderful addition to the trip in a more historic and centralized district. I would recommend to other; I wish we stayed more days now!

B&B Hachi is truly a beautiful place. The room was perhaps a bit smaller than what I had expected from the images, however it was perfect for one person. It opens to a beautiful small courtyard, which extended the spatial feeling. Everything was clean and even a simple breakfast was included. The staff was welcoming and I immediately felt like coming home. As there were no scheduled yoga classes on the day of my stay, they arranged a private class for me. Overall I am very happy with my stay, and I would love to stay here again.

Wir liebten die Möglickeit in einem traditionellen, japanischen Haus zu Gast zu sein. Das Raumklima war sehr angenehm und wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Das japanische Frühstück welches uns Yuta servierte war sehr fein und eine neue Erfahrung für uns. Danke dafür!

Amazing location for a getaway. Miko is super helpful and responsive. It is like a private resort villa with a few other people in the area. Was perfect after spending time in a busy city if you are looking to get away into the countryside. Within walking distance there are a couple cafes, citrus groves, and a glass making studio. Free bike rental is super helpful if you want to bike around the mountains in the area. We only spent the weekend here but wish we could have stayed a little longer to explore the area more. Would highly recommend this experience if you like getting away from the hustle and bustle like us.

We loved our stay at KuraKura! It’s a huge traditional house with beautiful, spacious rooms. There were just 2 of us but could easily accommodate a large group. We especially enjoyed the kotatsu with a view of the garden; the big kitchen with lots of equipment; and the wooden tables on the tatami. We walked up to Yoshinoyama one day, it’s quite far but possible! We also explored the local neighbourhood, with its lovely waterfalls and shrines. The hosts are so friendly and helpful. They helped with our luggage and drove us to the train station. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay!

爷爷奶奶人都很好 到达的时候热情地介绍了家里的设施和入住的房间 第二天九点多才醒来没有看见爷爷通知的早餐时间 下楼询问的时候奶奶要准备出门的还是给我们准备了美味的早餐 非常感谢 爷爷想起来泡面的调味忘记放了还坚持给我们加了 尝试了一下果然有加的必要 美味加倍！通过房间充满的摆件 早餐用的餐具 奶奶的日常打扮可以看出是很有仪式感的人 有机会希望可以再次入住：）我们走的时候也一直在门口打招呼送别 非常可爱

Chieri en haar moeder en hun schattige hond zijn hele lieve hosts die er alles aan doen om je verblijf een echte authentieke Japanse ervaring te laten zijn. Hun huis is prachtig ingericht, ruim en voelt heel fijn en gastvrij. Het café en de biertuin van Chieri zijn ook zeker de moeite waard om te bezoeken. Het eten en drinken en het gratis Japanse ontbijt waren heerlijk. En als je nog authentieke Japanse souvenirs zoekt zijn die hier ook te vinden. Al met al een perfecte plek om even tot rust te komen na het bezoeken van de drukke steden als Kyoto en Osaka.
