Lori’s is exactly what we need while visiting family over a holiday. She is very gracious to host us over Thanksgiving as the last occupants of the year. Even during a snow storm, her place is cosy and beautiful. This is our second year coming, and we love it every time. We would recommend it for those looking for a charming getaway from busy life. It’s small, but that’s what we were looking for, as we spent a lot of time away from the cabin. The cabin contained everything that we needed, and was not overstuffed with extra stuff.

I had a an amazing stay! The communication was amazing, Suzanne was a great help with local recommendations. Everything was as described & her property was gorgeous. There was some walking trails to explore, a beautiful balcony to watch the stars and enjoy. Will come back to enjoy another stay!

The bungalow is a gem for a peaceful retreat. So cozy and calming.

Rick and Karens place was an absolutely beautiful relaxing getaway. It was a perfect central point to all we had planned for the weekend. It was so peaceful, we had the chance to see a few very nice deer right out front as we watched the sunrise. I would highly recrecommend anyone to take advantage of this space. The house was spotless and provided anything you could need for a very relaxing getaway. I look foreward to returning.

It was a great little cabin! Very thoughtful touches and a great location for exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor. We were greeted by a Bard Owl in the woods too, it was a great place to stay.

Lura’s place was dreamy. Everything about it, from the campfire to the upstairs bedroom. We had also forgot to bring certain things and this house had EVERYTHING we needed. Only 20 min away from Bar harbor… 10/10

These cabins are in one of the prettiest areas of Maine - I love the natural flowers and plants around the buildings that let you hear the birds sing and see interesting wildlife (nothing scary!) - the cabin makes us want to duplicate it somewhere - but it’s comfortable fully equipped and stayed in cooler weather and the fireplace kept us very warm.

Carrie went above and beyond. The setting and surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. However, the hospitality we experienced is worth the price of the stay itself. Carrie baked us fresh sourdough bread that was bakery quality. She also had blueberry muffins, condiments, fresh grapes, and a bottle of wine in the fridge. She was very helpful with instructions on using the ferry and where to go for a hike on the island. We will absolutely stay again the next time we are in the area!

My husband and I had a great stay. We really enjoyed the fire pit outside in the evenings. The home was very cozy and had everything we needed. Close drive to Bangor.

This spot was great for a quick couple of days away. The host left great recommendations for food and things to do. He was very helpful and responsive! Super easy check in and check out with clear instructions! Comfortable bed and nice set for a tiny home! Would definitely stay again for another little break up in Bangor!

This location is absolutely beautiful. It’s a cute little place that is enjoyable to wake up, drink coffee, and enjoy the views. It was perfect for our family. I reached out to host a couple times for questions and they were super responsive and helpful. They have everything available for you too: games, fishing poles, fire starters, kayaking. They thought of it all! The roads to the house are super bumpy and uneven ha. We learned to navigate around the ruts like pros by the end of the week. You won’t be disappointed if you stay here.

This listing is an absolute gem! We decided that we needed a bit of an off-the-grid reset for our honeymoon and The Happy Loon delivers. Mandi and Michael are lovely hosts. They are responsive and take excellent care of their guests while still very much respecting and preserving the sense of privacy that an off-grid cabin brings. The cabin itself is dreamlike; well-furnished, well-built, and equipped with all the amenities you could dream of! you can tell how loved We took full advantage of the paddleboards, firepit, grills, and enjoyed some lovely walks on the drives leading to the cabin. The road getting in can be a bit rough (as you'd expect!) but the instructions given by the hosts are incredibly clear. If you're looking for somewhere peaceful, beautiful, and comfortable to spend your trip but aren't quite sure yet, take this leap! You won't be disappointed.

It was cute & charming cottage!

I loved my stay at the Bay Meadow Cottages!! I took advantage of the fresh blueberry pie and homemade ice cream they keep on the property! About a 10 minute drive from downtown Bar Harbor. Kirsten was so sweet and gave lots of local recommendations! I hope to be back in Maine soon so I can stay here again!

Beautiful small home, perfect for a quiet getaway without kiddo! Exactly what we needed!

I happened to be reading Byrd's book Alone (1937), about him staying alone in a hut in Antarctica. Byrd says that he had the desire to experience being alone "to taste peace and quiet and solitude long enough to find out how good they really are." That's what I found here (but unlike Byrd, I didn't have to deal with the cold and I had hot running water and other modern conveniences).

We loved our stay at the cabin! Slept better than we do back home. Wish we could’ve stayed longer, but this was a perfect location for us to have as a base for 2 nights surrounding our day spent at Acadia Nat’l Park (only an hour away!). Beautiful property and surroundings, truly loved the outdoor shower in nature. Most pristine camping toilet I’ve ever seen, bar none! Hosts do a great job maintaining cleanliness between guests. Would absolutely stay here again.

Scott has been my favorite AirBnB host I have had! He proactively messaged us, answered all of our questions, and he greeted us upon arrival to explain everything. The stay itself was so comfortable and he has built out a cute walking path and area to enjoy common outdoor spaces. We had a great stay and would recommend to anyone.

I appreciated the well-equipped kitchen. It felt like home! I brought my food for my three day stay because I didn't want to worry about finding a restaurant/diner every day. The kitchen had everything I needed, including sharp knives, cutting boards, and oh yeah, the cutest Le Creuset tea kettle. I enjoyed returning to Fern Hollow after hiking all day and being able to prepare my meal. Eating and relaxing by the firepit was exceptional - with s'mores for dessert!

Scott's cottage is really well located for a wonderful long weekend exploring Acadia. Close to Northeast, Southwest, and Bar Harbor for meals. All the best hiking trails a few minutes away. Located on a quiet road in a quiet section of the island which was appreciated after busy days. Cottage nestled in trees, with gorgeous view of a meadow and a bit of the water as well. Highly recommend.

This was an impromptu trip before starting another job and it couldn’t have been better. Waking up to enjoy the ferry was such a cool experience. The location is perfect and so close to so many great towns like Belfast and Camden. Jennifer was a wonderful and responsive host who made sure the stay was perfect. The place is so comfortable, especially with all of the local wood inside. The coffee shop and small store that are just a stones throw away are absolutely worth a visit. The barista made me his favorite coffee and it may have been one of the best I’ve ever had. I’m looking forward to being able to stay there again in the future and perhaps explore Islesboro from the most conveniently located home. It was truly a fantastic stay in such a great place.
