Home from home! What a gem of a place. Situated in a prime location with all amenities nearby. What suited us was the birdlife and the tranquility of the setting. Shirley-Ann is a delightful host and, after a month-long stay, we are now firm friends and will stay connected. There is not a negative aspect to report: only a rave review of a rare find! We look forward to our return as we visit family and friends in Durban regularly. I highly recommend this cottage. Thank you Shirley-Ann.

A home away from home....

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, love Hajra who really takes good care of the place. Marian is always checking in and keeps us updated. This is our third stay and will be returning. Thank you Marian and Hajra.

Beautiful garden house with pool and ocean view. We really enjoyed working remotely from there and then relaxing in the evening or having a braai with the awesome hosts (and their lovely dogs) We had everything we needed. Total recommendation this one!

Every aspect of our stay was delightful. We really enjoyed our time in Ivy Cottage, and felt totally at home. The view is spectacular and panoramic, making our braai (BBQ) in the garden so memorable. Speaking of which, the provided Weber appears to be new, and such a welcome amenity given the location. Everything has been thought of: the kitchen is very well stocked with good quality crockery & cutlery, the bathroom kitted out with shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. The bed is extremely comfortable with crisp & luxurious percale linen. Everything was spotless when we arrived. The TV has Netflix with a separate profile for the Ivy Cottage, so we could watch movies without having to have a personal account (a rarity, in our experience). Megan is a wonderful host and was the most responsive we've ever dealt with. I have no reservations in wholeheartedly recommending Ivy Cottage for your next stay in Umhlanga - we're certainly hoping to have an opportunity to stay here again!

The house was a home away from my actual home, I can recommend it. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly always available to offer assistance. We really enjoyed our stay. Hopefully coming back soon.

Staying at The Cottage was a lovely getaway from the hustle and bustle, with everything we could need as a group of 3 staying together. The home itself was welcoming and safe, and we truly felt right at home. The verandah and garden were an added plus on sunny days when we could sit outside and eat.

Nous avons trouvé un magnifique cottage spacieux près de l’aéroport de Virginia pour des cours à l’école de pilotage , idéal à 2 minutes . L’endroit est passible et tout ce qu il faut pour cuisiner . À 3 minutes un supermarché et plages . Le quartier est sur et les hôtes très sympathiques. Nous reviendrons si les chambres sont disponibles. Sabine et Paul et Antoine.

Quiet, private, and spacious place. You can’t beat the freedom you get staying here. The location is a plus if that is the vibe you’re looking for. It even has a terrace! I’d love to come back in the future. Thank you.

Johnny and Pat were welcoming and friendly. The view was spectacular!👌🏻 We could walk to the beach, with a beach cafe - nice Bunnychows 😊. The cottage had absolutely everything we needed. They also had a nice book, with local recommendations. We had an amazing weekend. Definitely going back, and will certainly recommend to all my family and friends!

The photos don't do the place any justice, it's even more beautiful live. I would definitely go back again. The host is also really amazing. Most of all it's super private.

A very clean and spacious room, perfect for a couple who just wanna have quiet time for themselves. The ladies helping out are sooo nice.🥰 The place is surrounded by nature and you literally hear natural sounds. I would 200% recommend this unit for you. I'll be coming back again before the year ends. 🥰

I really enjoyed my stay here — it’s such a peaceful and private space. The quiet surroundings and natural beauty, with all the plants and flowers, make it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. It honestly gave me the breather I didn’t know I needed. I was genuinely sad when I couldn’t extend my stay, but I completely understand as someone else had booked. This place is a gem — I’d definitely love to come back in the future.

Thank you for the stay at your cottage and assistance with the extra fence over the gate it really helped us to relax and feel at home knowing our small dogs could not get out. Our dogs are escape artists. Host is friendly, helpful and attentive. We would happily recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway in the Durban area.

Amazing place, looks as good the pictures. The bed was the highlight of the stay, most comfortable Airbnb bed I’ve ever experienced! Will definitely book this space again when in Durban.

Great couple, highly impressed with their service and flexibility. John & Audrey took good care of me from day 1, they helped me with so many things. They were super responsive and friendly. I enjoyed my stay throughout. The house was cleaned daily and the helper was so nice. It's great value for money, great area and safe. It's a 10/10.
