We had a cosy, comfortable stay at The Walkers Rest, with stunning views right from the windows. We made good use of the provided map for a beautiful hike around the local area, spotting plenty of spring lambs along the way. A late request to Angharad for use of the sauna was kindly accommodated, and it turned out to be the perfect final touch to our stay. The sauna features large windows so you can soak in the mountain views and we even heard owls calling in the evening! We’ll definitely be returning!

An absolute gem of a find. Stunning scenery right at the doorstep and a peaceful little spot. Stunning home not too busy and just right for a quiet couples getaway. Lisa was friendly and easy to communicate with and even offered local recommendations for things to do in the local area.

Quaint little cottage, comfortable and warm with central heating and a log fire. No heating in the dining room though, but it didn't matter at all to us, we just eat in the bedsit area. No tv but good WiFi, so able to watch programs or listen to radio on a tablet. Location - absolutely stunning, with beautiful walks during the day, and beavers around the fire pit in the evening- incredible!! Would we go again? - absolutely!! Tips - take a bag of carrots for the beavers, if there's no food out for them they won't stay long. Make sure you haven't forgotten anything, it's a long way to the shops!

We've visited Llanfoist several times before and have always wanted to stay here. We had a really relaxing and peaceful stay at Dry Dock cottage. The location is absolutely brilliant for gentle walks along the canal. The cabin was perfectly equipped with everything you could need. The bathroom was spotless and the standalone tub at the foot of the bed was a little touch of luxury for the weekend stay. We really enjoyed watching canal boats go by and watching the ducks (and their ducklings!) swimming around right outside the patio doors. Couldn't recommend this place enough - Sarah and the team included several little touches, like the home made flapjacks, which made the stay extra special. We can't wait to come back and stay again!

Stayed for 5 days, very peaceful. Could not have asked for a better space to switch off for a get away.

Absolute Gem of a find! We adored our stay! Everything was absolutely perfect, couldn’t ask for anything more. The cabin has everything you need and was squeaky clean! The location was easy to find yet secluded and private, so peaceful and relaxing. The perfect getaway from London life! The hosts are absolutely amazing and so friendly and helpful. The Hot tub was incredible and the bed was so comfy. Already planning our next visit!! Can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend this place!!

We've just enjoyed a lovely couple of days at Edwina's. The whole house was cosy and welcoming and a real get away from it all experience and the views were amazing. We wish the weather had been better so we could have enjoyed time in the lake and outside but in any case the kitchen / living area was perfect for us all to enjoy food, drinks and a few card games in the evening. We found Edwina to be really friendly and helpful so would definitely recommend to anyone wishing to visit this part of Wales. Thank you xx

Spent two nights at the cottage, the experience was surreal. It place allows you to disconnect from daily life and take a moment. There are lots of treks and walks around the cottage. Drive up to the cottage is an adventure but definitely worth the effort once you get there. Cottage doesn’t have wi fi but you get decent mobile connectivity so that wasn’t an issue at all. If you love looking out to fantastic views and enjoy exploring the hill on your feet you have got to try this one. 15 minutes drive from Bala town where you get all amenities.

Lovely location. Very easy access to Pen-y-Fan and Brecon. Lovely canal walks (should have taken our bikes as we fancied the nearby Taff Trail too). Incredibly quiet at night. Perfect.
