Bentfield is a fabulous place to stay in a beautiful location. There was more than enough space for our extended family. We particularly enjoyed the outside (but covered) seating area for a BBQ and of course the hot tub. The house has everything you will need for a great holiday.

We spent 5 nights here at the end of March and start of April 2025. We were really fortunate with the weather and took full advantage of the wonderful location: scaling Slight Side and Scafell on one day, riding to Coniston via the bridleway on another and 'bagging' most of the Coniston fells on another day via Wrynose Pass. We ate in on a couple of nights and also went to the Wainwright's for some pub grub, as well as Stoves for their evening menu. Simon and Belinda's place is very well situated in Great Langdale for all kinds of walks and rides, food and decent pints. The house itself is a lovely place to return to in the evening with easy parking outside for our van and once inside, everything is spotless, well equipped and cosy. We really appreciated all the helpful information on bike routes and walking routes and spent the late evenings by the fire pouring over the Wainwright books planning the next day's adventures. 100% recommended.

We had such a lovely stay! It was well located for getting out for local walks and was wonderful to come back to at the end of the day (the hot tub and sauna were wonderful after a day hiking!). The place had everything we needed and Jane and Steve were really helpful - thank you!

We loved this place! Its peaceful with good local walks, a pub just down the road. Tea and coffee and a loaf of bread were provided which was very welome. We'd brought our 2 dogs along, and Soraya had thoughfully left some dog treats out too. Just outside there was a hot tub, which was a real bonus, and a great way to relax after a day out walking.

Beautiful cottage. Was perfect for us and the dogs. Fully enclosed fenced garden with a gate down to a quiet riverside walk. The hottub was huge and warm ready for our arrival. Everything we needed was available in the kitchen. We only stayed for 1 night so cannot comment on the local area as we did not do much exploring but we noticed a spar walking distance just down the road and a few cafes.

Our stay at The Stables was heaven. Paul welcomed us and showed us around and had even set up the hot tub for us arriving. The house was immaculate with everything you could possibly need and beautifully decorated too. We loved the Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom. The garden was beautiful and so peaceful and our two dogs loved it, it was completely secure for them which meant we could relax. The view from the garden and the location were wonderful, it was just what we needed. We didn’t want to leave and would love to come back sometime soon. Thank you for being wonderful hosts and for our cheeseboard and Prosecco it was such a thoughtful touch.

Beautiful home, very spacious and plenty of amenities. felt right at home! perfect for toddlers too. Ian was great, very helpful and easily contactable.

We had an absolutely lovely time staying at High Swinside. Diana was an amazing host and went out of her way to make us all feel comfortable. I would highly recommend any of her cottages.

Lovely little house. Received advice on the way in that the house was ready and we could check in early without asking if we could. Just a 30 min drive to Scafell for the corridor and popular routes up. Great pizza place nearby and curry delivery spot on.

we had a fantastic 4 days in the cottage, everything was as described, what a lovely quiet place with fantastic views. would definitely recommend and would love to stop again.

Most enjoyable few days in this warm, cosy cottage. Lovely walks for the dogs and so many little birds! Linda very friendly and able to make recommendations for places to eat in area beyond Leadhills. Many thanks.

The cottage was lovely inside and out. Great and peaceful location. Close to everything you need. Inside is a very cosy, clean and well furnished place. All small details made our stay even better. The host was great, left a lot of information about everything (what to visit, best restaurants, pubs shops and cafes, how to recycle etc.). Moffat is a beautiful place, locals are lovely and most of the places are extremely dog-friendly. Our dog Vicky, which is normally quite anxious with new places and people, relaxed right away at the cottage and was super happy to get a treat or two from the lovely people around. Absolutely worth it!!

If you value peace, quiet, beautiful surroundings, do not hesitate to visit this place. I definitely recommend it, the house is equipped with everything you need, spotlessly clean, drinking coffee in the garden you can admire the walking deer, you really don't need anything more to relax .

Beautiful little cottage, spotlessly clean with everything we needed. The surrounding area was so peaceful with stunning views. The garden was fabulous , a place where we could relax after lots of walking and the perfect place for our puppy to explore.The location was excellent for visiting the lakes. Our hosts were so friendly and helpful ,made us feel extremely welcome . Would definitely stay here again!!

Great cottage, beautifully decorated in a really sweet village

A wonderful stay and an excellent host. Anthony was friendly, welcoming and proactive. His instructions were extremely helpful and we were pleased to find that the property was exactly as described and had all of the contents listed plus more. We felt right at home and relaxed for the duration. We would thoroughly recommend Anthony's house as a superb location to explore the lake district.

Such a special place- great facilities too. The kids just loved it.

From the moment I booked, Angela and Hugh have been proactively making extra effort to make sure our stay is comfortable. The directions to the property were to the point and Hugh walked us through the property and made sure we had everything we needed. It was very peaceful and beautiful..much more than the pictures. The surroundings were beautiful. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could need. The sun room was the best to sit and enjoy the green surroundings without getting cold, kids enjoyed the board games and movies on TV. It was a memorable stay, would love to visit again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Keeper’s Cottage. Exactly what we needed for a post Christmas de-stress. The kids loved exploring the garden and Amy is a super helpful host, going above and beyond to make sure you have an enjoyable stay.
