There is a great dog beach adjacent to a fenced dog park (one for small dogs and another for larger dogs). Don't miss the ferry to Egmont Key for an even more pristine experience... it is only accessible by water.

Take the Suncoast Beach Trolley to the beach and forget about finding and paying for parking! $2.25 per person (or reasonably priced unlimited daily use tickets) with service every half hour or so from downtown St. Petersburg to St. Pete Beach, 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. (midnight on Fridays and Saturdays).
