Very pleasant walk among the junipers and live oaks on paved trails. There is a playground & picnic area at one of the parking lots. Further down the road is a dog park and beach access along a paved trail with no more picnic tables underneath shady trees. Great for hanging out at the lake and swimming.

Hamilton Greenbelt is a 5.1 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Austin, Texas that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from April until September. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

The sizeable Central Texas rock-climbing community views Reimers Ranch as a destination with world-class rock climbing. The active local mountain biking community likewise enjoys Reimers Ranch’s over 18 miles of trails through the classic Central Texas landscape. Local anglers have come to Reimers’ for generations to fish for white bass in the Pedernales River. The Pogue Springs Preserve/Hogge Reserve component of the land acquisition is less known but equally spectacular with Pedernales River frontage, deep canyons and panoramic views of the Texas Hill Country. There is a 45 foot water fall creating a great swimming hole. You need to also hike some of the nature trails along the creek. Swimming is allowed only when the water quality meets safe standards. Water quality is monitored regularly. Updated information is posted at the entrance booth and provided on the park's telephone recorder message (512 264-2740) You have to make a reservation beforehand.
