A highlight of a visit here is naturally the beach itself, popular with surfers due to its open shore break, as well as home to the Gold Coast’s first Surf Club and the old bathing pavilion - which has been reincarnated into a casual beach cafe. Away from the beach, Tedder Avenue marks a strip of modern cafes, exclusive restaurants, bars and boutiques. For more shopping and style, wander north towards the Seaway, where you’ll encounter high-end shopping and exclusive dining at the likes of Palazzo Versace, Marina Mirage and the Sheraton Grand. The Southport Yacht Club also sits on the Broadwater’s edge, servicing the luxury yachts & other marine craft that dot these waters. Still further north along this slither of land you’ll find the iconic Sea World theme park, as well as direct to public fresh Seafood merchants & fisherman, before you reach The Spit, Seawall, Sand Pumping Jetty and entrance to the Gold Coast Seaway. The true beauty of Main Beach is that it’s where the fish and chip set mix with the bold and beautiful in that true Aussie spirit of egalitarianism.

Trams and Ubers are the best way to get around.

Either walking, or ordering an Uber is your best way to get around the bustling city. Many places have paid parking so this is your best way to avoid unwanted fares.
