Sightseeing

3 bridges, one on top of another, across a river that tumbles in huge waterfalls on its way to join the Rheidol. There are two walks (both with a small admission charge) that let you see different parts of the bridges and waterfalls. The main entrance - only for the physically fit - has many steps, some quite steep, that allow great views of the waterfalls as they tumble 90m / 300ft.

Beautiful walks and cycle tracks through beautiful scenery. Red Kites are abundant here - especially at feeding time! There's a great cafe too with HD CCTV to watch the kites in comfort. A shortish, reasonably level walk, passes kite viewing points and hides.

A trip into this mine is a step back into history with everything pretty much as it was left when the miners went off to war. A real eye-opener to what life was like for working in that environment.

The Borth Carnival, held on the Friday before the August Bank Holiday, is probably one of the best around. One of our favourites.

"Aber", as it is known locally, is our closest seaside town. There's a lot to do here; sands, shops, restaurants, walks, museums.... The Cliff Railway, to the top of Constitution Hill, has a Camera Obscura and cafe with views over the bay.
