It is a wide sandy beach, backed by a pebble bank and high unstable cliffs of coal measures, changing to siltstones and mudstones at Telpyn Point. A wave-cut platform at the point is a popular place for sunbathing, and at low tide it is possible to walk around the point to Marros. Swimming is generally safe and dogs are allowed at all times.
