Neigbourhood

Things you can do and experience. This area is unique because of its vicinity to the sea. In early 1900 the fishermen lived from fishing heerings. Nowadays they land many different fish, shellfish and scallops. Try the tiny lobsters: 'Jomfruhummer’. Walk or bike along 'Nordkyststien' – from Helsingør to Hundested or take a shorter tour, from Dronningmølle to Gilleleje or from Dronningmølle to Hornbæk, both 4,5-5 km walks. Take the local train from Gilleleje to i.e. Helsingør and visit the Hamlet castle ' Kronborg' or the Maritime Museum (M/S Søfartsmuseet), with very good activities for kids (age 4-14). Walk from Dronningmølle to Tegners Museum and Sculpture Park with huge plaster sculptures inside and bronze sculptures in the park – a nice 2 km walk from the Dronningmølle Camping. Rest your soul and enjoy a refreshment at Søren's Café beside the museum.
