Food scene

A nice laid-back vibe with outdoor seating and lots of tree cover. $5 Margaritas, really good music playlist. Burgers, pizza, fish, steaks, etc. Friday and Saturday night they have a live Cuban band (at 8PM) -- sometimes it's crowded, sometimes not. Either way, always a good vibe.

Have a terrific breakfast on the beach, or choose from a full menu of food and cocktails. If you travel down the hotel zone (from the apartment it's about 7 minutes) you will see the Hotel Temptation on the left, across from the Starbucks. Go through the parking lot of the hotel before Temptation and follow the path to the beach, turn left, and about 40 feet or so you'll see the restaurant on the left. It is mostly quiet there, only getting crowded when people are gathering for the party boat, or coming back and waiting for their transport. They also have sunbathing lounge chairs.

Beaches

This is the closest beach to the apartment, perhaps 10 minutes by taxi. When you go through the marketing lot, proceed along the path next to OXXO store, and at the beach to RIGHT and you can rent chairs and an umbrella for MX$250 for the day. That particular restaurant has good food and drinks (some of the other drinks are not good, so go here). The restaurant to the immediate left is good too, just a bit more expensive. This beach you should arrive by 10AM (the weekend can get a bit more crowded).

This is the best beach -- about 15 minutes from the apartment. It is much larger than Playa Tortugas, but also has chairs and an umbrella for MX$250 a day. And they too have food and drink menus -- though a bit more expensive. The water seems bluer, and there are waves here.

Consejos para la ciudad

Cómo moverse

Taxis and Buses

For taxis, from the apartment simply go downstairs and go across from the lobby into the mall, turn left, walk to the end, and outside and there is a taxi stand. Locally they will change MX$70-80. On the street taxis for the same rides would change MX$50-60. The convenience is worth the extra US$1. If you take a taxi to the beach, you can take a bus (R1 or R2) back to town for MX$12.
