Koja mjesta bi trebalo posjetiti za vašeg boravka u Dubrovniku...
You are in Dubrovnik primarily because of its beauty and preservation of the old town, which is best seen from above. Another way to enjoy this beauty and get up close is to experience a walk through the city walls. It is obligatory to do that. You can buy tickets for the walls at each entrance or you can buy a Dubrovnik card in the Tourist Board on the Pile plateau, and with it you have the entrance to the walls and Dubrovnik museums together.

Our recommendation is to see Dubrovnik from a height like a bird, and for that an attractive way is by cable car to the hill Srđ. Once you are in the Old town you need to go out to the northern part of the walls, so the mainland that overlooks the hill Srđ on top of which there is a large TV antenna. You will easily find the stairs to the cable car departure station. On the hill Srđ you have a restaurant - cafe, and a museum of the Homeland War if you are interested in our closer war for independence. The ticket by cable car is return.

Srđ is a hill above the City of Dubrovnik, 415 m high. The hill is named after St. Srđ (lat. Sergius). You can reach the top by road, cable car that starts above the Old Town or hiking serpentines from which the view of the Old Town makes this climb one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world. At the top is the Imperial fortress, built in 1806-1808 under the French occupation of Dubrovnik, which lasted for 8 years, and after the fall of the French, Dubrovnik came under Austrian rule, who upgraded the fortress. Within the fortress is the repeater of Croatian Radio Television, and the Panorama restaurant.

Lokrum is an island in front of the Old City of Dubrovnik, connected to the Old City harbor by a boat that runs frequently. The island's name is probably derived from the Latin word acrumen, which means sour fruit, because the island once abounded with sour wild orange trees. The island is a large botanical garden, and there you can meet a lot of peacocks that roam freely around. There is also a fort on the top of the island, an old monastery, a restaurant and a cafe. The island offers rest in the nearby shade of trees and plenty of places for swimming in the sea.

Elafiti archipelago, (also known as Elphite or Elaphiti) is a group of 14 Croatian islands and islets dotted off the coast of Dubrovnik. The archipelago is also called the ‘Dubrovnik’s islands‘ as historically, they all belonged to Ragusa, the Dubrovnik Republic. Just three of the larger islands are permanently inhabited: Sipan, Lopud and Kolocep. Well connected by local ferry boats (see dots on the map), the islands are popular among the locals and visitors to Dubrovnik as a day trip destinations, especially during the summer holidays.

Bus to the Old town

Just few steps from apartment you will find local bus station located in Kralja Tomislava Street next to the roundabout. When you leave the building, turn left to Kralja Tomislava Street, then left again to the rounabout. You can buy tickets directly on the bus or cheaper at the tobacco kiosk across the bus station. You will take bus number 6 and exit at last bus station called Pile gate. To get back, you need bus number 6 again and you need to get off at the Pošta Lapad station, which is located on the other side of the roundabout. Let the roundabout be your guide :)
