Tarnagulla is an 1850s gold mining town. Many of the original buildings remain and the entire area is steeped in history. Walks around town are guided by plaques on the buildings explaining their history. Wayawa Café is open in the Tarnagulla Community Centre on Sundays where you can access books about the history of the area. The first weekend of October is the time of Tarnagulla Strictly Vintage Festival when vintage cars, caravans, stalls, fashion parades and food converge in Tarnagulla for a celebration of All Things Vintage. Well worth a visit.
