20 Kms from Alibaug on the Alibaug – Roha route near the Salav village is the beautiful 'Birla Mandir'. Ganesha is the main diety of the temple with ‘Riddhi and Siddhi’ on its either sides. There are small temples of ‘Radha-Krishna’, ‘Shiv-Parvati’ and ‘Suryadeva’ also in the Birla mandir. Aarti at Birla temple is at 9.00 am and 7.00 pm everyday.

Varsoli is a beautiful sandy beach near Satya Villa - only 2 kms away. The clear waters of the Arabian Sea are quite a treat for the visitors flocking this beach. One could spend hours together lazying around on the sand and staring into the water. Sunset views are just too good. Plenty of sporting activities available too.

Varsoli Beach
Varsoli is a beautiful sandy beach near Satya Villa - only 2 kms away. The clear waters of the Arabian Sea are quite a treat for the visitors flocking this beach. One could spend hours together lazying around on the sand and staring into the water. Sunset views are just too good. Plenty of sporting activities available too.
Kanakeshwar ( देव श्री कनकेश्वर ), on the Konkan coast near Alibag, is a popular place, famous for its cool climate and the old temple of Lord Shiva. The temple is situated on a small hill near the village of Mapgaon which is almost 12 km from Alibag. The hill is almost 1200 feet high and one has to climb 700 - 750 steps to reach the temple.
In the mid of the hill one can see "Nagobacha Tappa" (a Place of Snakes) and the famous step called "Devachi Payari" named because, it is said, God himself stepped here after the construction of the temple and the steps. The temple of Kanakeshwar is very beautiful; it is a Hoysala style structure built in 1764.

There about 150 beautifully carved sculptures displayed here. The exhibition is open the whole day throughout the week and entry fee is Rs.5/-.
