My favorite restaurant is Boccaporta

The restaurant Boccaporta is a 5 minute walk from our house and has great local food.
If you're looking for fine Istrian food in a homely atmosphere, this tavern meets all parameters - and that's why you'll want to come back again and again. Since I'm more inclined to go on gastro-eno expeditions around the interior of Istria, whose charming hills I can never get enough of, I didn't have a go-to place in Pula that I'm sure I'll leave full and with a smile on my face after lunch (is there anything worse than leaving a restaurant dissatisfied?). And I found such a place in the Boccaporta tavern, which is located outside the city center, surrounded by greenery - and which is also one of the cult restaurants among the locals. Because, as far as I had the opportunity to see, the guests here are constantly changing and it's always crowded, so it was a real miracle that we managed to get a table without a reservation.

Owner and head baker Ivana Keri has been making bread for herself for a long time from natural kvass. Everyone who tried it asked for another slice. She wanted to selflessly share the flavors of the old bread with others, so she opened a small family bakery with a charming name* The flour used by the Kolijevka kruha bakery is organic, carefully selected from small, proven millers in Croatia, who grind the grain at a low temperature of up to 40 degrees Celsius

Viticulture and winemaking are a centuries-old tradition of the Benazić family. The vine has always been an integral part of their lives, and today it is completely their calling in life. Katarina Benazić (26) is perhaps the youngest winemaker and owner of one family OPG. Her father, Neven Benazić, started OPG Benazić in 2005, revitalizing the old family vineyards near Sveta Katarina.Today, three generations of the family are involved in growing grapes and producing wine and spirits. The knowledge passed down from generation to generation was complemented by the expertise of the family agronomists, and it was with such a diploma that Katarina returned from her studies in Zagreb three years ago and took over the management of the family OPG.

The double gate, also known as Porta Gemina, got its name because of the two semicircular openings that led into the city, and were built in the period from the 2nd to the 3rd century on the remains of an older city gate. The door was decorated with three half-columns with composite capitals, while above them a relief wreath connects the composition into a harmonious whole. Slots are still visible on the arches, which were used to close the gates and prevent unwanted people from entering the city

The most famous and significant monument, the building from which every tour of the city begins and ends - the Pula Arena - a building where gladiator fights were held. It was built in the 1st century, during the reign of Emperor Vespasian, at the same time as the largest and most famous building of its kind - the Colosseum in Rome. It is elliptical in shape, with a main axis 130 meters long and a shorter axis 100 meters long. In the middle is a flat area - the arena, and the spectators sat on the stone steps or stood in the gallery. It is believed that the Arena could accommodate 20,000 spectators. It was built from local limestone. In the Middle Ages, the Arena was used for knightly fights.

Golden Gate" – erected on 29-27. Mr. B.C. by the Sergi family, and in honor of three family members who held high official positions in Pula. The triumphal arch abutted the city gate Porta Aurea, so named either because of the richness of the decorative arch or because of the gilding of the doorposts. The gates and ramparts were demolished at the beginning of the 19th century due to urbanization and the expansion of the city outside the ramparts. The triumphal arch was built in the Corinthian style with strong Hellenistic Asia Minor influences in the way and motifs of decoration. Since the eastern part was not visible, it remained mostly uncarved, while the western side, which is visible - the city's, is richly decorated. Today, the small square next to the Arc de Triomphe hosts cultural events - theater and choir, and there are numerous shops along the street itself.

It's no secret that Pula hides an entire underground world of tunnels and shelters that, believe it or not, can fit 50,000 people, which is almost the entire city - a truly imposing figure. It is difficult to find the Pula hill without digging it. The largest and at the same time the most popular is the one known as Zerostrasse, which is located at the foot of the Pula Castle. After the tunnel system was renovated, an exhibition was installed in the center and the elevator was installed, Pula got a new attraction that is definitely worth visiting.

Cape Kamenjak is the southernmost point of the Istrian peninsula, and is located about 20 minutes' drive from Premantura. Since 1996, Kamenjak has been on the list of protected areas. Crystal clear sea, numerous coves and beautiful beaches make Kamenjak an ideal place for all-day summer swimming and sports activities such as diving. How special it is is also shown by the fact that the famous world travel guide Lonely Planet once included it in the list of the most desirable locations for a secluded vacation in the Mediterranean.

The place is located on Cape Verudela on a canyon that rises up to 20 m above the sea. The depth is 3-7 m, while when leaving the canyon, you pass through several natural tunnels at a depth of approximately 5 m, and then the terrain descends steeply to a depth of 25 m. Along the slope you come across 2 large caves and many small holes and caves at depths of 16-19 m.

The small Roman theater in Pula was probably built in the 1st century on the eastern slope of the Pula hill at the foot of the old Castrum. It occupied a much larger area than the one visible today, because the archaeological researches were not fully completed.
