Taking the Pub and Paddle Rowing Boat for a row is a great way to see Norwich from a completely different perspective! Please note this is not a canoe but a rowing boat – much bigger than our canoes and therefore perfect for families and those of you who like a bigger, and therefore more stable :-), boat.
Starting from our Elm Hill Quay pontoon, next to the Ribs of Beef pub, you row towards the colourful houses on Quayside and onwards to Whitefriars Bridge, The Jarrolds Bridge and Cow Tower. You continue underneath the historic Bishop Bridge, passing Pulls Ferry and continue towards Riverside. You’ll want to spin yourselves around when you’re near The Waterfront and leisurely row back towards the launch spot.
If you fancy more rowing, you can then continue towards Norwich University of the Arts, old Bullard and Sons Anchor Brewery and the derelict Eastern Electricity Building, which still has Sir Thomas More’s novel Utopia painted on it, until you reach New Mill’s Yard.
You cannot take the picnic boat to Thorpe St Andrew, you will need to stay in Norwich.
