The Grade II-listed park, which opened in 1926, has been voted the best park in the UK for the second time in three years. A visit to these glorious surroundings will help you understand how Stanley Park beat 364 other parks and green spaces in a public vote to win the accolade and why the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge tweeted their congratulations. Stretching across 390 breath-taking acres, this oasis of elegance boasts a magical blend of architecture, horticulture and recreation. Known across the land for its bandstand, boating lake and Italian gardens, this beautiful, tranquil place is a world away from the hustle and bustle of Blackpool seafront. Open every day between dawn and dusk, the park is split into four zones: the north and western formal gardens; the eastern area lake and woodland area; and the south stretch containing children’s play areas and sports facilities. More than two million people visit the park every year – make sure you’re one of them! Be sure to visit the superb cafe serving breakfast and lunch.

It is home to the North Pier Theatre, which hosts regular comedy and musical acts, while families will love the Victorian tea room, two-tier Venetian Carousel and ice cream parlour. You won’t have to walk far to find yourself in the shadow of The Blackpool Tower. While you’re here, it’s worth wandering up the steps from the beach to the entertaining Comedy Carpet, featuring a collection of hilarious quotes from some of the most iconic comedians to have made the country laugh over the years, many of whom started out performing in Blackpool. If you want to be at the heart of the action, this is the place to put up your sun-loungers.

It’s an additional price but well worth it for the thrill seekers in your group. Slides featured include two Aztec themed slides, which launch from high up on the waterpark’s roof, venturing outside and then sweeping back into the building before hitting the water. Families can add these slides to the list of thrill slides like Masterblaster, the longest indoor rollercoaster waterslide in the world, and Sidewinder, which was the world’s first indoor vertical waterslide. Family Fun There’s plenty to entertain the whole family and those who don’t fancy the bigger thrills: whether it's relaxing in the free-flowing Ushi Gushi Action River or Thunderfall’s long but relatively gentle twisting slides. There’s also the faster pace of the Duelling Dragons, the tranquil Shimmering Shallows and the ever-popular Typhoon Lagoon Wavepool to check out. Younger explorers will love the Caribbean Storm Treehouse, which is an interactive adventure play area with a giant tipping coconut that cascades over 600 gallons of water over unsuspecting victims. Sandcastle Waterpark Blackpool is the UK’s largest Indoor waterpark. With over 18 slides and plenty of exciting attractions in an 84-degree tropical climate, there is something to entertain the whole family. COVID-19 measures at Sandcastle Waterpark The team at Sandcastle Waterpark have been working hard behind closed doors. New safety measures have been put in place, and these can be viewed below: We recommend that all guests wear face coverings whilst queuing for admission, and on departure from our Changing Village when leaving. Enhanced cleaning regimes are in place throughout our Waterpark including all public areas, Changing Village and on our slides and attractions. Hand sanitisation stations are located throughout the building and Waterpark for you to use. Social distancing measures are in place throughout our building. Increased air ventilation within our Waterpark. All of our team members have received training in COVID-19 measures. Contactless payment systems are in operation including our free Splash Cash facility. Order food at our catering outlets and collect from our Food Collection points. Guests are required to book their visit online, in advance. Perspex screens have been installed at our counter. You can watch their short video below for a further insight: Book your Sandcastle Waterpark tickets here Thrill Seekers The waterpark boasts four more impressive slides that can be accessed with a Hyperzone Wristband. It’s an additional price but well worth it for the thrill seekers in your group. Slides featured include two Aztec themed slides, which launch from high up on the waterpark’s roof, venturing outside and then sweeping back into the building before hitting the water. The first – Montazooma – is a colossal mat slide with 360° loops and back-to-back turns, while the second – Aztec Falls – involves an electrifying pitch-black descent into a giant bowl. The fun doesn’t stop there. Everyone can expend a little energy using the water cannons, mini slides and jets at HMS Thundersplash and Fort Riptide. Extra Tips Cashless Splashcash Wristbands make it easy to pay for food and drinks when inside the waterpark and can be purchased in advance or on the day - this means you can leave your wallet in your locker and is one less thing to worry about! At an additional cost, guests over 18 years old can enjoy Seabreeze Spa, which features a steam room, sauna, salt inhalation room, aromatherapy room, foot spas, ice feature and heated loungers. VIP Tiki Cabana Our new VIP Cabana is perfect for guests looking for an an all-inclusive day out. You’ll enjoy your own private area, which includes a lounge area with TV, plus a separate dining area with lunch for all guests included – all overlooking the rest of the waterpark. You’ll also get to relax in your private hot tub and take refreshments from your fully-stocked bar (which also includes soft drinks!). There’s also a handy private car parking space and admission to all areas of the waterpark including Hyperzone and Sea Breeze Spa (height, weight and age restrictions apply). Our VIP Tiki Cabana is perfect for special occasions, celebrating with friends, or a birthday treat for the whole family. For prices and availability, please call 01253 340700. There’s nothing quite like a day at the seaside, and Blackpool is one of the best beach resorts you will find in the UK. The whole family will love relaxing in the sun, taking a dip in the sea and enjoying an ice cream along the promenade here in Blackpool. There is plenty of space for sandcastles, sunbathing and family games, so you really can make a day of it. Of course, Blackpool is also the only British beach resort to boast three fabulous piers, so don’t forget to pay these a visit as part of your day at the beach. Let’s take a look at what you’ll find along Blackpool’s famous Golden Mile. Enjoy the Great Promenade Show! A giant mirror ball will leave you reflecting on an aesthetically pleasing stretch of rejuvenated promenade at South Beach. It’s part of the Great Promenade Show where some of the country’s top artists and designers have created two kilometres of gobsmacking sculptures and lighting. It’s certainly a break from the norm for Blackpool, but one that has gone down a storm with visitors. Mixing with our old-school seaside resort, Blackpool’s gone all continental with its own Spanish-style Steps. When the town redesigned its sea defences, in a project totalling £80m, it did so in style, with the creation of six new headlands, sculpted spaces and the Spanish Steps leading down to the sea. When in Blackpool, do as the Romans do!

Described as “landing on a cloud” our Airbag is the perfect place to showcase your latest flips and tricks as well as giving you a safer way to try new ones! Show us what you’ve got! Flip Zone So, you think yourself a bit of a gymnast? Here at Ascent we try hard not to disappoint, so how about Three lanes of trampoline, dedicated to just flipping and tumbling? Sounds great, right? If you can master our assault course, there is no reason for you not to be crowned king of your dojo! The Pits Imagine a giant pillow filled with feathers, only instead of feathers, blocks of foam… No? Anyway, Ascent has a huge foam pit that would put any Royal bed to shame.
