Family Fun

Great place for everyone. Surrounded by nature, there is plenty to do here, particularly for birdwatchers and children. They also have a fabulous new indoor play area if happens to be raining one day!

This is a great place to start a bike ride, whether you hire them here or bring your own. You can also do some simple bread making or just enjoy the baked goods they do here. The doughnuts are particularly good! For children there are plenty of animals to get close to too.

This is a gem of an animal park where you can get close to farm animals as well as do a red deer safari on the back of a tractor. My daughter loved this place as a child and it is now occasionally visited by our resident royals with their tinies.

Sandringham has something for everyone. Apart from the fascinating history and royal connections, the estate is improving the facilities every year, particularly for children with new adventure playgrounds, etc.

Neighbourhoods

This is a fabulous area for families. You can hire canoes or paddles boards and/or do guided canoe tours or paddle board lessons. It sits on the coastal path so it is a great area for walking too. A favourite of ours is to walk from here to Holkham where you can lunch at the pub there (The Victoria) and hop on the regular bus back to Burnham Overy Staithe or eat at The Hero when you return.

City/town information

This traditional seaside town has lots of activities for families in addition to the fabulous beach. Out of preference, we choose to access the beach in Old Hunstanton next to Le Strange Arms. The lifeboat station is based here together with a small beach cafe. In the town, you will find everything from ten pin bowling, to the UK’s biggest joke shop and of course, plenty of slot machines for a rainy day.
