The fanciest place here in the neighborhood, and just 1 block from the house. Ortygia is a great place for a romantic dinner. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is romantic and lively at the same time. Chef Guy almost always comes out to great you at your table.

Sightseeing
We are close to all the beaches on Anna Maria Island, but this one is my favorite. Plenty of parking at the beach and the little "town" has plenty of restaurants, bars and shops to wander thru. from here you can also catch the free beach trolley that will take you beach to beach up and down the island.

Great beach, you can rent beach chairs, there is a little cafe right on the beach with all you can eat pancakes every morning till 11am, plus a full menu breakfast - lunch and dinner. And a Tiki bar.
Holmes Beach also has full bathrooms beach showers and changing rooms.

A little know fact - the movie Great Expectations was filmed at the Ringling Mansion. 4th the grounds are amazing filled with specimen plants a rose garden and the most magnificent Banyan trees. The grounds open to the public for free daily - there is a small cafe with good food and a children's play area as well. The Ringling is about a 10 min drive from the house.
