Food scene

Tucked under a canopy of grape vines, you’ll find The Jam Jar Kitchen deep in the heart of Crantock village. Set within the courtyard of a pretty stone cottage, mornings here are made for gorging on coffee, Jess's homemade cakes and croissants (fresh from the bakery up the road) enjoy a local ice-cream in the late afternoon sunshine and as the warm summer evenings descend perfect for a freshly made artisan Pizza paired with a glass of wine.

C-Bay Bar & Bistro sits with an unsurpassed view over Crantock Beach and the coastline beyond. The more relaxed feel during the day is enhanced by delicious breakfasts, home-baked cakes, Cream Tea’s, fresh ‘Olfactory Coffee’ and iced smoothies. Lunch consists of a variety of sandwiches, salads and chicken, fresh fish and vegetarian options together with more substantial meals such as burgers and fish & chips. The more sophisticated evening menu incorporates locally sourced seasonal ingredients to create mouth-watering dishes with Cornish and British influences, alongside popular dishes such as the classic ‘C-Bay’ burger in a Baker Tom bun and locally caught sustainable fish. You can either dine in at C-Bay in the Bar Lounge, on the huge sun terrace or in the garden. We recommend the breakfast pancakes! Breakfast starts from 10am and is a straight 20min walk from our front door along the hill top over looking the ocean.

Pentire is the big slither of rock that runs parallel to Crantock beach on the right hand side. There are lots of rock pools to swim in and you can scramble up the rocks onto Pentire head for a walk and drop down the other side onto Fistral beach. You can also walk the gannel and up one of the many paths or steps into Newquay town.

We love walking the coast line from Cligga head to Wheal kitty especially in the summer as its quiet and you pass lots of private swim coves. Wheal kitty has a great place for lunch of breakfast - Canteen, Open surf for coffee and Finisterre for a spot of shopping.
