Food scene

Savannah is a Foodie Mecca. Too many to list. Instead, I've listed a range from fancy, good ole southern style to diner. Also, proximity to home is key! Enjoy and let me know what you think and feel free to suggest one that is worth the recommendation.

Sightseeing

In 1733 James Oglethorpe, founder and planner of Savannah, was a visionary who sought to build the ideal city based on humanism, science and secular government. These 3 Enlightment ideals are how Savannah was created for a vision of social equity and civic virtue. The mechanisms supporting the Oglethorpe plan was conceived with toleration and wholesome regulations. This included yeoman governance, equitable land allocation, stable land tenure and prohibition of slavery. I suggest walking or cycling Savannah's Twenty-Five Squares. Located in the console in the foyer of home is a detailed description of history for each square. Enjoy as it is quite remarkable!
The Waving Girl Statue commemorates Florence Martus, the light house keeper's sister who waved to Savannah Ships in Savannah's port for more than 44 years. She stands as a symbol of Savannah's gracious hospitality and charm.
