The Barra lighthouse is an ex-libris of our region. It is the largest lighthouse in Portugal and the second tallest on the Iberian Peninsula. On Wednesday afternoons it is possible to visit and climb its 288 steps and 62 meters high 🙆
Schedules: 2:00 pm, 2:45 pm, 3:30 pm, 4:15 pm and 5:00 pm (summer - until October 31) and 1:30 pm, 2:15 pm, 3:00 pm, 3:45 pm and 4:30 pm (winter - until March 27, 2022)
Ascents are carried out in groups of up to 6 people. Visiting appointments are made on site, without the possibility of prior scheduling, and on a first-come, first-served basis.

This 3 kms wooden trail is the best way to fall in love with our beaches. It goes along the dunes all along this stretch, culminating at the Barra lighthouse.
An excellent family stroll to delight in the colours of the sunset and savour the sea air.

- Codfish Festival: 10 to 14 August (amazing food n´music).
- Kneeboard Surfing World Championship: 8 to 18 September
- 34º National Sport Fishing Contest: 2 October
- Nossa Senhora da Saúde Festival, which takes place on the last Sunday in September.
These are excellent times to visit the region and enjoy its typical festivities.
