Large place, about 25 minutes drive. They have a regular 18 hole court for green card, and a 9 holes court for «pay and play» without greencard. Playing here can be combined with a visit to the nearby old town Fredrikstad, which is a very nice place.

15 min drive north up the river from us. It is a beautiful place where you can go for a walk, rent kayaks, and there is a nice cafe by the river, and a little antique/flea kind of market. If you want to rent kayaks, i recomend calling them first.

The Via Ferrata Halden Canal starts with Europe's longest suspension bridge in a Via Ferrata - 124.3 m long, 15 meters over the Halden Canal. Then an exciting climbing trail and a 250 meter long zipline are just some of what awaits you when you arrive at Via Ferrata Halden Canal.
From the Nepalese suspension bridge you have a great view up and down the canal, and in the Via Ferrata in the mountains you traverse over the mountainside in the direction of the locks. When you reach the top, a 250 meter long and 80 meter high zipline takes you back across the canal!
The facility is suitable for children from 10 years and up, so here the whole family can have fun together!

Old fortress in Halden, near the Swedish border. You can drive directly to the place, or you can park your car in the town centre, and combine it with a visit here. There is a harbour and an old town. And then you can walk from the centre up to the top of the mountain to the fortress, just follow the trail.

Swimming
There are different possibilities near our house, but the best places will vary depending on how high the water in the river is at the time. You can swim from the pier’s if it’s high enough. Or find a place by the trail, or if you walk a little, there is a diving tower. (But never tried it ourselves)
Popular beach, 15 min drive . Both swimming from beach, or you can jump from the diving towers. Very nice beach-cafe called Palma. Good restaurant for dinner nearby also, called Salt. There is also a nice hiking trail along the coast, called «Kyststien»
