Stop here to really soak in the Route 66 vibes that made the area famous. The burgers are good, smells wafting out from the outdoor meat are amazing too! Nice outdoor seating.

Located within a mile in the heart of Williams, get an early start here. It's a slow meander on a train car named after local history through the unpopulated landscape to the best end point of all. Its an all day affair and a bit touristy, but if you don't mind things a little showy, it's overall a relaxing way to enjoy a trip to the Canyon.

Fletcher loves Dogtown Lake and we have watched some epic thunderstorms populate from here. It's a drive on a bit of a rutted at times road to get here, but it's quiet and rarely busy it seems, even with a campground right here. I saw a bald eagle here too. Fishing and easy hiking/ walking here.

Why you wanna walk around

This is a small town, you could easily blink and miss it from the I-40. The two claims to fame of Williams will be the Gateway to the Grand Canyon and that Route 66 used to be the main thoroughfare through the area. Makes for some fun photo ops and small town vibes, no reason to rush through the downtown.
