Sidi Bel Abbes (12th century) is the most famous of the saints of Marrakech. A former teacher entirely devoted to Islam, he helped the beggars and the blind. The religious complex that bears its name has been built in the course of different eras. While the Madrasa and the mosque date back to 1605, the fountain and the zaouia (a convent where the disciples devote themselves to prayer and incantations) are older. Sidi Bel Abbes (XIIe siècle) est le plus célèbre des saints de Marrakech. Ancien enseignant entièrement dévoué à l’Islam, il secourait les mendiants et les aveugles. Le complexe religieux qui porte son nom s’est édifié au cour de différentes époques.

Le Jardin Secret is opening its doors to the public for the first time in its history. The origins of the complex date back to the Saadian Dynasty, more than four hundred years ago. Rebuilt in the mid-Nineteenth century at the behest of an influential kaid of the Atlas Mountains, Le Jardin Secret has been the home of some of Morocco and Marrakech’s most important political figures. Today you are able to fully appreciate it, thanks to the recent renovation; Le Jardin Secret is part of the great tradition of stately Arab-Andalusian and Moroccan palaces. As a result visitors can discover its gardens and buildings, which are outstanding examples of Islamic art and architecture.

Nous ne pouvons que vous conseiller de prendre l'apéritif au Café Arabe. Y aller en fin d'après-midi, pour vous reposer de la visite de la médina et profiter du couché de soleil. Personnel constant depuis des années, et attentif.
