Jim was a wonderful host! His helpfulness and hospitality made my stay in Bedford much more enjoyable. There were snacks and breakfast items left in the fridge upon my arrival, and I had the pleasure of tasting their excellent mead at the meadery on the way in, the staff there were very friendly and welcoming. I can highly recommend staying here for anyone looking for a cozy and quiet retreat in the Bedford area.

Another great stay. We stayed here last year and enjoyed the peaceful location and easy access to Virginia Tech to attend the football game. Dina is great and responsive to all questions and requests. Looking forward to coming back again next year.

This is a unique property that has the size and flexibility to fit a fairly large, generational family. Each room, with its own bathroom is so convenient! And the large, common, eating area; with the "Cliff View" is spectacular. This is the second time our family has stayed here, and with some in Ohio, and some in VA, we will probably be back . Plus. We have runners, and the proximity to that epic trail along the Jackson is a real draw!

Captain Ron is the most AMAZING host! I enjoyed hearing his most wonderful stories! This is such a PERFECT & PEACEFUL atmosphere!! I can't wait to return again!!

Beautiful property and very friendly host. Dina was helpful and happy to answer questions I had about local wildlife and hiking trails and I felt like I could have chatted with her for hours! Hoping to be able to go back in the near future and spend more time as this was just a one night stay before a hiking trip.

This was a very nice place to stay. The property manager was very responsive to my inquiries and I was able to work during the day. The wifi was a bit spotty/in and out, but when I reached out, they worked with the provider to get it fixed. It is a rural location, BUT everything you'd need is about 15 minutes away. So it's peaceful AND convenient. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.

I wish all hostess were like Melanie! From start to finish she made it perfect. She responded to each request instantly and was proactive in providing all of the information we needed.

Beautiful and inspiring place! Our family of four had the place all the ourselves though we had a very late check in at 11 pm, we enjoyed the fire and kids games and instruments located in the shared space before checking out the next day. Saying this place is a hidden gem is an understatement. Very clean bedding and the hosts prepared the room by making it warm before our arrival which is a huge plus (cold night). A sanctuary you do not want to miss. I’m inspired to come back and support you guys and your initiative. I will have time for the sauna next time for sure. Thank you again for a beautiful stay!

Another lovely stay at the Yew Center. I love waking up in the morning and hearing so many different bird calls. Our dog enjoyed hiking with us and taking a dip in the ponds and creeks. I always enjoy meeting other guests at the Yew and Melanie keeps everything running smoothly and beautifully clean (even with a lot of muddy boots going in and out).

We had a great stay! Love staying at The Yew! Everyone is always super friendly. Nice quiet get away! Can't wait to come back.

Brigadoon as a whole is an experience in and of itself. The home is VERY artistic, colorful, and stimulating. There is so much for the eye and soul to take in. Heather was always friendly, warm, and helpful. We had great interactions and chats as time allowed. The bed and room was comfy and inviting, and the bathroom facilities were clean and warm as well. Overall, this choice will bring all of your senses alive in a curious and comfortable way! Enjoy!
