Small accommodations for a great price! Private bedroom and bathroom and shared kitchen. Very clean and everyone was friendly. We expected a good amount of noise at night but it was surprisingly quiet. You can tell this host cares for the environment as they have a place for recyclables and green soap and body washes and other things. I appreciated that very much. Coffee and oatmeal available in the kitchen. Everyone we came across was very nice. We walked our heads off over the weekend to lots of places we wanted to go and rode a bike taxi back one day. This is a small space for a great price that’s in a great location!

This was our second time staying in the Kingsolver room at Notso (we were in town for High Water fest) and it was just as perfect this time around as the first! The house is beautiful and historic and it’s on a relatively quiet street within easy walking distance to King Street as well as lots of coffee shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. Everything is well stocked and clean and the hosts are friendly and responsive. Definitely the only place we’ll stay on our trips to Charleston

Notso Hostel was a lovely landing pad for my time in Charleston! The room was cozy and comfortable, and the host was very friendly and responsive. Despite there being several rooms in the house, it was very quiet and calm. One of the major selling points was the hostel’s proximity to King Street—I was able to walk everywhere around downtown! If you are looking for a cozy, historic, cost-effective option for your trip to Charleston, I strongly recommend Notso Hostel! :)

Great Hostel!! Awesome location too it's right in town and we could walk to the places we wanted to go in Charleston. I really appreciated the easy check-in/check-out process. Definitely would stay again if we come back to Charleston.

This place was small but cozy. Exactly as advertised. We enjoyed our stay. price very comparable to others nearby. We enjoyed it and felt very safe.

That was my third time staying at the hostel—definitely my favorite one! You can do everything within walking distance. Besides, the place is very organized, clean, and peaceful. I will definitely stay here again.

I stayed at Notso’s place for a quick trip to Charlotte and overall, it was a decent budget-friendly option. The room was on the smaller side and the space is definitely more of a hostel vibe, with shared bathrooms and other guests staying there. The bathroom itself was okay, although there was some hair left in the shower which wasn’t ideal. That said, the price was really affordable (around $100, which is cheap for the area), and the location was walkable and convenient. Communication was great throughout—responses were quick and clear, which I appreciated. If you’re looking for a no-frills, inexpensive place to crash in a good spot, this does the job.
