Springfield Cottage - Cosy Medieval Hall House

Springfield Cottage is a few steps away from the centre of Chagford, a unique and historic town on Dartmoor. One of oldest properties in the town, it is a warm and welcoming house full of period features dating back to medieval times, including a large inglenook fireplace. A small frontage with lots behind! It has all modern comforts including a fully equipped kitchen and a separate wet-room style shower room with under-floor heating. Off-road parking (better suited to small to mid sized cars).

Underfloor heating and a cosy wood-burner. There is an EV charger at the barn. Beaches and moorland all within a half hour drive. Being within a working farm, sadly we cannot allow dogs.

The Barn, West Ford Farm

The Barn is part of an historic farmstead. It was built from cob and stone in the 18th century and sits in a peaceful valley, a lovely place to get away from it all and enjoy the glorious Devon country side. It is on the edge of Dartmoor and next to the Two Moors Way. The pretty village of Drewsteignton is a couple of miles away with it's pub The Drewe Arms. The National Trust's Castle Drogo is half a mile beyond that. The Drogo Estate has beautiful walks along the River Teign

Welcome to our charming annex in Inwardleigh, near Okehampton and Dartmoor. Our one-bedroom retreat offers a peaceful getaway or a base to explore Devon. This special cottage is situated in the grounds of author Doris Lessing's Devon longhouse and has been lovingly renovated to provide stylish, comfortable accommodation.
